***Official No Alpine Valley In 2018***

Have they updated the rooms at all in the last 8-9 years? Only ever stayed at the resort once, in '09, and vowed never to stay there again. The convenience was nice but the rooms were such shitholes. Beds were so old and saggy we couldn't sleep at night, bathroom was dirty as hell with stains, etc. Between that and the grill police in the resort lots during tailgating it just wasn't a great experience.

It's seemed like they had been updating in 2015. If your not camping it seems like the best idea, all the hotels prices are jacked during that period. Alpines actually seemed the cheapest last time around.

Agreed country inn and suites in East Troy was $1050 for 3 nights

Looking ahead to 2019!!

Will be camping again this summer but looking for suggestions on new campgrounds. Stayed at Mcintryres in Delvan in 15 and 16. Had a good time but there are somethings that could be better. Looking for a campground that won’t hassle too much, some shade around, and ideally offers a shuttle to shows. Anybody have some good reviews for nearby camps?

It's been several years since I camped, but we always had really good experiences at Rome Riverside Campground. Plenty of space, nice vibe, privately owned and not a state park so you don't have to worry about "hassles" as long as you aren't being an idiot. They run a shuttle for concerts as well, I believe.

Bark River was always good a while back and most recently we did Country View which was great.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Either of those have other concert campers around? Half of the fun is meeting new people who are all there for the same reason you are.

Anybody ever stay at Snugg Harbor in Delavan? Pictures look nice and was looking to stay there in 2016 but plans changed

Blarney is so much fun! My house was on the Chain of Lakes there but we had to list it for sale to move to STL a few months ago. We had great times at Blarney and never once made it home from there without the water police stopping us for sobriety checks, lol!

The times I stayed at Rome Riverside it was basically all people there for the shows. Actually my favorite weekend there was '07, we stayed 3 nights because RATM played Alpine on the Friday night and then DMB Sat/Sun, what a weekend.

Right on. I look forward to making new friends each time I make a trip for shows. That sounds like one hell of a weekend man!

That Country View looks nice, I like that some sites are wooded and have fire rings. Does anybody know if they provide shuttles? There’s pretty much zero chance of me or my group being sober enough to drive to the lots

Absolutely loved staying at Bark River. Started getting more popular, and my back started getting worse, so started doing hotels. Also had so much fun there.

Great news for the venue. That season with 0 shows had me worried Alpine would be gone forever.

Wonder what if any venue upgrades have been made. Any locals have some info?

I can't recall the resort selling out this early, usually it's the day off the official tour announcement.

They didn’t offer a waiting list? It’s been a while since I didn’t make reservations in like November (Thanks Chad!) but there used to be a waiting list for cancellations. I would call & ask, it’s worth it, I’ve been called a few times from the list.
