Nothing very interesting in this job, but back when I worked in restaurants there were some good ones.

I didn't do shit.

She called her order in and said "to go" so the counter girl rightfully rang it up as a carry-out and quoted her 30 minutes. 30 minutes later she calls and asks where her delivery is. I'm not busy so I say I'll just run it over to her. I'm there in 5 minutes and she meets me in the yard screaming at me that it's late.

I told her our MINIMUM delivery time is 45 minutes, and I'm here in 35; I'm sorry about the mix up with the carry-out/delivery thing, but I'm here quickly, you're not getting charged a delivery fee, so we're good to go, I just need the money for the pizza.

Nope. She wants it free.

And people think the way to get free shit is to be bitchy as fuck. Wrong. I would have happily given it to her free if she was just nice about it but at this point, fuck no.

At this point the husband comes out and I explain to him what the situation is. He pulls out some money and the lady slaps his hand away and says they're getting it for free. This is when she grabs at my delivery bag. I hold on, and tell her, nope. No money, no pizza.

I believe these were her words:

"Listen you little cunt. I'm getting that fucking pizza and I'm getting it for free."

I look at the husband, he says "Just go, man." So I leave.


I ate some of the pizza on the way home. Tasted like victory.

Oh, and apparently she called the store and bitched the manager out too. He calls me up on my way back to the store and says "Please tell me you didn't give her that pizza for free."

Me: "Fuck no. I'm eating it right now."

Managing a "gourmet, organic" grocery store in downtown Austin, i deal with some of the most entitled and snobby customers you can imagine. Its baffling how much people want their every whim catered too. I'm all for helping you out to the best of my abilities and resources but first treat me with a certain amount of decency or fuck right off.

Got a notice today that says they've received "many complaints." According to the document....

The complaint alleges a violation of:

X  Humane Care for Animals Act, ILCS 510 Paragraph 70/3
     X(a) Failure to provide a sufficient quantity of good quality, wholesome food and water
     X(b) Failure to provide adequate shelter and protection from the weather
     _(c) Failure to provide veterinary care when needed to prevent suffering
     X(b) Failure to provide humane care and treatment

Considering these "many" complainers seem to know so much about my dog, I'm shocked that c wasn't "X'd."

I left a voicemail where I verbalized that "anyone that isn't a child can see where the food and water is located, but like a child, I can walk "Bill" through why this notice never needed to be left." I also said that about 90% of people that are upright are morons, so I'm not sure why I have to defend raising a pat for 14 years when someone can just walk by and complain.

I live right next to a bus stop and a Metra stop, so it's not my neighbors. It's commuters that don't actually live near me. They do see my dog outside everyday though.

My actual neighborhood is pretty cool and filled with, I'd argue, 98% really, really awesome people. In fact, just this evening I was walking my dog and this guy, who does live nearby, stopped me and asked if I received my "package." I was kind of like what are you talking about and he said that the other day he was walking by with his daughter and saw someone trying to get into my yard to take this big box. He said it looked like a picture of a doghouse on the box and that he told the guy to fuck off. That's small town, look after your neighbor, type shit right there. I did have a doghouse delivered and, apparently thanks to that guy, it was in my yard when I got home. Because of my dog, everyone in my neighborhood knows who I am. It's not people that actually live near me. They're all fine with everything and know I've been here for 8 years now.
