Re: What was the last movie you watched?

there's some good bits, it's not a classic or anything but it got some good laughs in the theater when I saw it

The fact that someone literally, to the number, knows how many movies they've seen is a little odd to me. Still love you tho, Matthew.

I track what movies I've watched in a spreadsheet as well. Started a couple years back when Steven Soderbergh's list was shared online.

The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)

I liked it. All the performances were great. I was a little confused by the ending though tbh. Anyone care to explain?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I started keeping a spreadsheet of new movies I watch this year for the first time. Counting only movies that I had never seen before, I've seen 43 new movies this year (19 of them were released in 2017, 18 of those were in the theater). I put the name of the movie, the date I saw it, the year it was released, my rating of it, and where I saw it (like theater, Netflix, etc.). I've also seen many, many other movies this year that I had previously seen. I kind of like keeping track. I would always forget just how many movies I've seen before. This also makes it easy to remember which movies I really liked from the year so I can remember to maybe watch them again someday.

Good to hear. My best friend just got done with a season with a Gila hot shots in New Mexico. We got a chuckle for the simple fact his first season they make a movie about hot shots. Ran into the Miles Teller character, said he was a great guy.

Very well done movie, especially for a movie that wasn't trying to be an award winning picture or anything, but the seasonal allergies were kicking up at the end haha.

On a separate note - can someone give me their two cents on Dunkirk? Is it worth watching?

Agreed, when I first saw the trailer and texted my friend saying it looked like a shitty Christian movie

I think I'm probably in the minority here but I didn't care for it. I'm a massive Nolan fan and it's def my least favorite movie of his. No character development what so ever so I had nothing invested, no empathy for the characters at all so I was completely indifferent whether they died or not. Visually it's absolutely stunning and Hans Zimmers score is brilliant as always, saw it in an IMAX so that was probably the lone saving grace. If you were to just watch on your home system it wouldn't be anything special imo unless you've got a nice theatre room. We all know the events of Dunkirk, that the civilians save the soldiers. But there's hardly any dialogue and no really unique stories built around that story. So without a real story a pretty visuals can online carry a film so far. I'm sure others will disagree but I thought it was boring & very average.
