Re: 2020 Tour Rumors

Having just gone to New Orleans this past week, they really need to make more stops in that city. Obviously they won't be back for Jazz Fest in a while, but it's mind blowing that New Orleans isn't a regular stop.

I like the Charlotte/Bristow Friday Saturday stop. Not a real 2 night stand but captures the area nicely.

Just so long Bristow remains on a Saturday.

That D&T show a few years back was a two nighter and I had a blast.

Because the band is forcing you to go see them for three nights, let alone one night?

I dont care about taking the rest of the south off the market but if the did 2 nights at Alpharetta for the rest of their touring days it would be awesome!

Oh fuck yeah to this! The full band hasn’t played in their own show NOLA since crashing the quarter in 1996.

I think the best bet would be the smoothie king center.

I kinda get were you’re coming from with Pensacola because that place kinda was a dump. At the same time tho, I kinda liked it because it was so small.

Anyway, I enjoy getting to see the band play these smaller venues in the south. Keep the Southaven, Brandon, Oak Mountain, The Wharf, and Tuscaloosa type venues in rotation.

Yeah... Texas also out sells you. GA gets a Tuesday night in a 12,000 person venue. You think they should cut out Houston at 19.5k and Dallas at 20.5K on a weekend run and just do a second night in GA? Sounds like strong financial advice.

we don't quite pull those numbers, but your point is still 100% valid.

    this is actually kinda mindboggling.

not sure if you're familiar the venue, but there is literally only one long lane in and one long lane out, and it's right off a major highway. well, combine that, with notoriously bad rush hour congestion in the DMV and you get insane traffic leading into the venue. a ton of people were very late or flat out missed the show. i missed about 4-5 songs. people were leaving their cars on the side of the road and walking to the venue like that phish concert. my buddy was there early and told me the place looked pretty empty to start the show. a lot of people voiced their displeasure to the band and the venue mainly. clearly the band listened.

Actually been to a DMB show a Bristow once, and took a party bus from DC. Traffic was bad for sure. One things fore sure, the whole DC beltway is terrible traffic.

Yep, I believe this was the last full band show. Dave and Tim played Nola in 1997 and 2014.

I’m pretty sure he tries to hit those Texas shows when possible as well.

I was kidding, I just like to poke fun at the SPAC fanboys. I've never been to SPAC but it's pretty revered for being another amphitheater in the woods.

I have been to the Gorge twice and don't need to go to every other venue to positively know the atmosphere of the Gorge is different. We'd be going back this year but we're having a baby

Ok, not to get into the whole what is considered the South and what isn't argument, but when I say check off the South, I meant GA,AL,NC,KY, SC,TN,MS. Texas is its own region haha

And 100% the band should play NOLA more, the Smoothie King Arena is about all they have to offer for their size I believe.

Gorge is 10000x better than SPAC, dont let anyone fool you. SPAC has tEh energiezz if youre in the pavilion and a cool town but gorge is an infinitely better concert experience.
