Lot's of folks (me included) weren't thrilled with the eventual Legacy release. A fully produced DMB version of JTR would be great. Take the 12/8/00 Blue Water >> JTR into the studio and work it from there.

But, since you take such issue with my hypothetical pick --- rather than squander that opportunity --- I'll offer a substitute pick: a finished version of #40. They should begin with the SPAC version from 6/21/08 and finish it.

While I don't know if #40 should ever be finished, if it were going to be...this is where that process should start without a doubt.

You know what you hear is mostly a lack of Dave playing right? Or dave not playing like he used to. Most of the riff work on Big Whiskey Dave wrote, Tim just doubles or plays it live. That was the process, it's not really Tim himself. Plus listen to Tim from 98, most love it, but his tone was borderline ridiculous sometimes. And overall, his tone is usually where I have a problem with him. Not to mention, if you can't hear the heavy electric guitar throughout Crash and Before These Crowded Streets, I don't know what to say.

You are 100 percent right that heavy electric guitar doesn't define dmb's sound at all, but look to the way Dave is writing and playing right now, not Tim Reynolds. If Dave actually played, no one would be saying anything.

also, I know it's not an unreleased song or even a full song for all we know, but would really love if they end up doing something with that new acoustic song dave played a couple years back at a private show, where he was talking back and forth with the crowd about his song writing process, played some chords and hummed along the vocal melody....lots of potential full band

Yep, Sugar Will Europe '10 was awesome. Cool horn stuff, new vocal lines, and some cool Tim additions.

The song was Hurricane played at the Dave and Tim Vegas shows back in '09. That was a great little song, and I'd like to see where it could go.
