While I treat premiums exactly as you're describing I think it's at least a grey area. I'd guess close to zero people are paying for premiums to get the two show posters and tchotchkes, they are paying to be in the pit or center lowers. Premiums are about 350 a piece, so 115-125 for the ticket, 60 for the poster, which leaves about 165-175 bucks for a water bottle or blanket, lol.
While I would personally always pass along the merch I don't see it as a complete deal breaker to just sell the ticket for the amount printed on the face. If anything just back the 60 bucks out for the print, at least it has some value at resale after the show.
