Re: The NBA Thread

Wow, crazy they actually fired Doc. He won't be unemployed long. I'm sure there are many other teams willing to blow 3-1 leads.

Why stick with the guy who can't get you out of the 2nd round for YEARS? It's obviously isn't working. They need to try something else.

Are you saying they should keep Doc??

I don't know. I just have a hard time thinking about changing coaches for a win-now team to someone less seasoned than doc. why wouldn't they have done that last year? I would assume because they thought doc would be a good steward for the talent to do the work

obviously it didn't work out. but I'm not sure which replacement is going to be a better option (outside of coaches that are already coaching other teams)

i mean that’s the exact reason why Lue is the obvious choice. seasoned and already on the team, just a new voice and fresh mind

proven coaches that are better than Rivers: Joerger, D’antoni, both Van Gundys, and you have Atkinson who has more upside but not much equity

i don’t like recycling coaches but that’s probably the direction the Clippers need to go in with an all in season

without a doubt. My buddy played ball at my college, alongside John Holland who was a 2-way player on that Cavs squad. We all met up for a beer after they came to town to play the Celtics (not LBJ). He told me Lebron straight up ran shit

well yeah. obviously the best long term play is hiring a new young coach no ones heard of. but the Clippers situation is unique- you get one year, one shot, no time to waste

nope 2-way contract, it was 1000% John holland lol, I know him. Might've been with Larry Drew, but point being Lebron was the "coach"

edit; nope it was still Lue. 2 way contracts were around in 2017

D'antoni is awful. All he does is want you to shoot more 3s. Plus he looks like the Pringles mascot.

Hes like a HC in the Big 12. No attempt at a defensive strategy.

Only argument I can see is that D'Antoni actually tries to coach. Feel like Doc had just given up at this point.

at thinking LeBron doesn't run shit wherever he goes.

Lue has shown the ability to make on the fly changes game to game in big time series. He also is really good at drawing up ATO plays.

If I were a clippers fan, I be rooting for them to hire Lue. Especially to get an ex-Lebron Coach in the building when you're gonna be facing him the next few years.

Common sense tells me Lakers in 5. Or, worst case scenario, Lakers in 7. Bubble has been anything but common sense, though. Feel like if the Heat win its going to be in 6.
