Re: ** College Football Season **

Nice cushy job for Bill O'Brien, I feel like after they win a couple national championships again he should stick to college football and be a head coach somewhere

Good Hire by Bama. But nah I disagree... O'Brien is an NFL guy. I don't think he enjoys the recruiting or monitoring players daily that you get with a college job.

He'll get another shot, just not GM access.

I think hiring BoB isn't a great idea, but he does have a better NFL record than Saban

Saban OCs typically only stay a year or two before getting HC jobs anyway so thatís fine. Would be nice if he stuck around 3-4 more years and took over after Saban retires, though.

I'd be ok with it, but that's down the road a bit. I wouldn't say he's THE guy necessarily. There will be a lot more options in a few years. BoB is a really good coach, just not a good GM.

He isn't a really good head coach in the NFL, did have some success at PSU

BoB following Saban would be an absolute gift to the rest of the SEC and college football in general.

He'd probably be as good as anyone. I mean, this isn't gonna happen because BoB will more than likely be back in the NFL by then and possibly as a HC.

Yeah I'm a big BoB fan and I don't thin you want him to be running the show at Alabama. Like I said, he does not enjoy the recruiting and monitoring players part of the college coaching gig. He's a good coach but recruiting is even more important than you're coaching abilities.

He'll be back in the NFL soon enough.

All I know is I dont want BoB on the staff of a team I care about at either level and would love having him be the HC of my team's rival.

I'd love to see him as the Saints HC after Peyton leaves.

The whole thing with BoB was "he's that awful of a head coach and instead of firing him you're ... making him GM??" It wasn't like he was good up until being a GM.

He was a good coach. He won the division 4 times in 6 seasons. With Tom Savage and Osweiler playin QB dude.

There was always talk about him being a complete train wreck in situational football, clueless, and people couldn't believe he was being promoted to GM.

Living in Houston, but not being a Texans fan, the perspective I have is that BoB wasn't a terrible coach, but wasn't a great one either. He won a weak division multiple times and beat the Bengals in a few playoff games, but did nothing that built any confidence. He was a bully with the media - and the Houston media is a bunch of softballs - and not sure he is going to get another chance in the NFL.

My thoughts exactly. All of this talk is irrelevant, really. He's not gonna be around by the time Saban retires. That being said, i think he's gonna be an excellent OC and Marrone is an amazing hire as OL coach.

I'd assume BoB will be good as OC in Alabama, kind of hard not to
