Re: Do You Remember

For being one of my favorite songs off CT, it's quickly losing it's appeal to me. They are getting a bit sloppy in the playing of it too. Still enjoy the studio version, but my all time favorite is the solo version Dave played early this year before we knew it was going to be on CT.

Prior to CT, when it was played by Dave solo in Mexico and w/ Tim at Farm Aid, I was really excited to hear it would sound with the full band. I ended up being pretty underwhelmed by the instrumentals on the studio cut. The more I revisit it, the more bland it is to me. The most recent thing I noticed is Fonzie's bass line. It is really quite boring, which is weird because he has a lot of great moments at other points in the record.

I don't hate the song, though. As you stated, the Dave solo version is particularly good. I'm just not really looking forward to it in a full-band set as far as CT songs are concerned.

Love this song & learned the riff watching the Bristow show on yt last week. Stefan's bass on the album version is frickin' sick tight.

Yeah, it's a good song. Dave plays it way too much, though. But it's a fun little tune. Love the horns.
