I have not been to Bristow since 98 so can't recall, how far back is 205 in comp to other venues (if you know)

Is premium parking worth it?
Seems people say they get stuck there for a long time too.
I would rather not spend $50 if you are still stuck??
I think premium parking is absolutely worth it. Most of the time I'm out of the lot in under 20 minutes, and I think the longest it's ever taken me to get out after a show is a half hour. Compared with the general lot, where I've been waiting for 2+ hours at times it's a no-brainer for me.

Every time I have ever been here I have done VIP parking and longest I sat as half an hour...I think it kind of depends on when you get into the lot and if you roll before the encore ends or not...I'm hoping to come this summer...money is tight and my wife won't do lawn, anybody know what the seats are like on the outsides of 300 level that are priced lower?

There hasn't been a 2+ hour wait for the lots at Bristow in ages.

It clears out really quick now.

They're far back and to the side, but not awful. Beats the lawn.

Got 2 pits from the citi presale. Depending on whether my wife is interested (unlikely), I may have a spare.

I was browsing stubhub earlier to see what pit ticket prices are looking like at other venues for this summers tour and noticed that Bristow pits are much more affordable compared to other cities weekend shows. The lowest priced pit ticket on StubHub is $160 for a single right now (TM Ticket)

Does anyone know why that might be?

The pit is massive and there's a ton more availability, driving down the price. At least that's my guess.

    Ding ding ding!

Huge pit, and tickets are extremely easy to come by. There are always drops the week of the show. I wouldn't go anywhere near StubHub for this show.

Then why the eff did WH stick me w/ uppers?

Actually, they're decent uppers (205 row C...hopefully more towards the center). WH did hook us up with Hartford and SPAC Pits, so I'm only kidding. We're actually quite happy with everything we got and secured our tix for SPAC N1 too.

Good luck to everyone. I'm hoping for a special show since it's the only area appearance. I will not, however, hold my breath...just happy to be seeing them again this spring/summer.

Congrats on the SPAC pits! That's like the holy grail!

I secured my premier parking pass earlier today, so I'm all set except for that whole pesky tickets thing...but as usual I'll probably buy my lowers the Wednesday before the show.

Are the parking passes in the presale?

I remember it being $35 in past years. I'm not thrilled about the $50, and genuinely spent a few minutes debating whether to actually pull the trigger. Then I remembered that I have a baby at home and every extra minute of sleep I can get is a blessing.

Violent truism are always a tough pill to swallow, but damn if this isn't so true.

I remember rooting so hard for Pearl Jam when they took on TM and I thought tons of artists would fall in line right behind or join them to improve things for fans and the artists...

Alas, they fought valiantly with few allies, to no avail. Membership at venues seems the only option to avoid them, when/if available. That's how we do Wolf Trap and have gotten pretty great seats to most shows for the last few years.

Goddamn I love Wolf Trap so much. Particularly their policy of allowing you to bring your own food/alcohol if you sit on the lawn.

    how IS Wolf Trap, anyway?

When I was living in Ashburn I would drive past it all the time on my way to Tysons Corner, but I never ended up catching a show there.

It's like an awesome mini-SPAC. That was our first thought when we first walked in. The shed is all wood and built for sound. There are no bad seats for sound. Great size. It's one of my favorite venues, if not my favorite. We seen:

    Ani DiFranco 2x
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones w/ MMW
    Ben Harper and Innocent Criminals
    Nickel Creek
American Acoustic: Punch Bros, I'm w/ Her, and Julian Lage
Barenaked Ladies w/ Better Than Ezra and KT Tunstall
    The Avett Brothers

...and a couple of others (I think). This year we're doing the Avetts three night stand and Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals again.

To give you an idea of the sound...Nickel Creek did the old timey "electric" thing where they all played with their instruments unplugged and singing into a single vintage mic...sounded amazing. Ben on the other hand had his band stop and the audience get quiet and sang at the front of the stage WIHOUT a mic and belted out a verse of gospel...astoundingly stellar. One of the best vocal performances I've ever seen and heard. It's worth the trip to see a band/artist you love there. This summer's line-up is quite good, as per their usual.

I love it. Much smaller amphitheater than either JLL or Merriweather. Great sound quality. Good parking situation (never takes too long to get out after a show). The policy I mentioned of allowing you to bring your own food and drink (including alcohol) to the lawn, thus not having to spend exorbitant amounts on concessions.

If you're in the seating area of the amphitheater, you can't bring your own stuff, and they make you buy their branded cup with lid to bring any drinks inside. Starting a couple of years ago they will now let you bring water to your seats without it being in their special cup.

Nice, that's a pretty good lineup. Darnit, should have checked the place out while I had the chance.

Still have our one and only cup from 2016 (I think) which has been holding our smoothies for the last few years! You can safely stash your coolers too. It's a great and (dare I say) chill vibe. If you think it's hot at SPAC in the summer...Wolf Trap will have you melting. DMV has some of worst heat index and humidity north of Louisiana and Hot 'Lanta. Freeze your water bottles and go for the frozen drinks...you won't regret it.
