It's like an awesome mini-SPAC. That was our first thought when we first walked in. The shed is all wood and built for sound. There are no bad seats for sound. Great size. It's one of my favorite venues, if not my favorite. We seen:
Ani DiFranco 2x
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones w/ MMW
Ben Harper and Innocent Criminals
Nickel Creek
American Acoustic: Punch Bros, I'm w/ Her, and Julian Lage
Barenaked Ladies w/ Better Than Ezra and KT Tunstall
The Avett Brothers
...and a couple of others (I think). This year we're doing the Avetts three night stand and Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals again.
To give you an idea of the sound...Nickel Creek did the old timey "electric" thing where they all played with their instruments unplugged and singing into a single vintage mic...sounded amazing. Ben on the other hand had his band stop and the audience get quiet and sang at the front of the stage WIHOUT a mic and belted out a verse of gospel...astoundingly stellar. One of the best vocal performances I've ever seen and heard. It's worth the trip to see a band/artist you love there. This summer's line-up is quite good, as per their usual.
