Re: ***Official Pine Knob/DTE Thread***

Hey all. What's this venue like? I'm thinking about driving out from Philly PA since they are not playing Blossom this year. I know Detroit traffic is bad and the venue is north of there. Thanks.

Venue is very nice, usually get good shows.

Traffic will suck if you arrive around 5-6 since you will be coming up through Detroit, assuming you don't stay the night before.
Traffic leaving can be difficult depending on a. when you arrive and b. where they stick you. If you can get to the right spot you can get out pretty quickly. If you are worried can always get VIP.

Actually, the last two years, I have been able to grab 2 pits on instants for DTE. One of the small benefits of being chained to a desk.

I got Premium Pit also. 3/99 member and this was my priority selection, glad to see WH respecting that (hopefully). By my math, WH got only around 50 tickets to the pit (fits 250 with WH getting around 20%). Couple that with WH letting some requesting 4 tickets to Pit (not sure if anyone actually got 4), this really is one of the toughest Pit tickets on the tour as around only 20-30 members actually getting Pit tickets. With no other really close shows since no Blossom, I would think other senior members used this as a Priority Selection as well. MWGirl-See you again this year (I am fairly sure we met in Pit line last year).

Pine Knob is a great little venue. It’s probably the best acoustically of all the amphitheaters i’ve been to and its smaller than most, so any reserved seats are great. Sets have been good to great in the past. Crowds are pretty good considering they always play here on week days, but not quite the same energy as the bigger weekend stops.

I agree with a prior comment, you’ll want to be through Detroit by 3pm. Afterwards there will be periods of stop and go traffic for the 40+ miles north to the venue.

Hope you have fun here, it’s definitely an under the radar venue.

Congrats to y'all who got pit!!! I didn't even put in a request for it this year just because I've gotten knocked back to really shitty way off to the side uppers after requesting pit every time. We usually go with a big group anyway and sit on the lawn so it's whatever; still would love pit though. Pine Knob is one of the few places where I actually love sitting on the lawn.

    We did!
250 seems low but I believe it. Is that number certain or from a reliable source?

My husband and I got extremely lucky and got both DTE and SPAC (non premium) pit.

Wow, 4 pit tickets! Yes, 250 has been confirmed to me several times by employees working at DTE. We are getting in line now.

I requested 3 lower pavilion seats. I was confirmed and charged at this price but they stuck with me uppers in CTR7. Is this wrong or am I missing something here?

I also was confirmed for 3 at $115, but was given seats in CTR8, labeled as uppers. I have a feeling this is Warehouse bullshit that amounts to selling ‘desirable’ uppers at a higher price point. If you contact them and get anywhere, either with a price adjustment or better seats, please let me know. First time getting screwed by Warehouse in this particular way, and it really has me rethinking whether I want to use them going forward.

It would be less insulting if they at least labeled the seats as lower pavilion, indicating they thought they were giving us what we asked for and the only quibble was over their definition of ‘lower’. To see the tickets labeled as uppers but still charged as lowers is pretty awful.

I sent them an email yesterday morning and have yet to hear back from them! I’m pretty irritated to say the least. Same situation for the Alpharetta tickets I requested

CTR 7 and 8 are both labelled as 115 tickets looking at the seating chart on the warehouse.

What this guy said. It's been like this the last 2-3 tours.

They expanded the higher price point into what we all had called "upper" bowl area for every venue.

There is someone on the cash or trade facebook page trying to sell Pine Knob (DTE) Row A (first row behind the pit) for a whopping $632 a ticket and claiming she's selling for face value! I know Platinum can "fluctuate based on demand" but is it possible for platinum tickets to get this high in price, or is this individual simply trying to pull a quick/massive profit?

My hunch: This individual is a DTE season ticket holder and is trying to turn a massive profit. I doubt that these tickets would ever be available to the public (because they'd be owned by a season ticket holder, held back, or snatched by a bot). She also claims she suddenly doesn't need them, as she "also got pit tickets and the friend she got them for already got their own tickets." How likely is it that someone is pulling Row A AND Pit during the public onsale?! Seems VERY fishy.

Such a load of shit. With platinum tickets and verified resale tickets on Ticketmaster the whole system is just fucked.

Agreed. Platinum tickets are basically Ticketmaster or the Band scalping their own tickets instead of the actual Scalpers getting the tickets to make the extra dough. The whole concert industry has just turned to garbage. It's no longer how big a fan you are, it's how big your wallet/purse is.

Seems to me (and my poor memory) that foreign tours rarely get good setlists. I'm thinking back to Australia, previous Euro tours, and South American.
