I know you said weekend, but you also said during the summer. Maybe I misread it.

Just hop around....isnt this a Fri/Sat/Sun show? I see rooms for 75 bucks for the Thursday. If you call you can get cheaper rates than posted online.

And yeah...you can get rooms for as low as 49, 59, 69 etc during the week all year long as any of the casinos.

By now I'm sure you've all seen this article from end of December:

    http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/n...cc4c002e0.html

I don't know if this article has been shown yet but it's only posted 3 days ago (the most interesting line being the final sentence):

    http://www.courierpostonline.com/art...n-down-stadium

Also, I work for a news station in Philadelphia and obviously AC is in our coverage area and we cover news at the shore....for years we've had sky cameras of the boardwalk, and casino skyline but we recently got a new sky camera that is a shot of Bader Field which we have been using on-air almost every day. Considering the airport has been closed for almost 5 years, think this is a sign of things to come perhaps?

And for all of you looking for places to stay...if you have a group, screw $200+ a night at the Borgata and look for a shore house for the weekend in Ventnor, Brigantine or Margate/Longport. I myself will be staying at my Aunt's place in Margate but you can get a shore house relatively inexpensively at one of the surrounding communities thats only a few minutes from AC's casinos.

Who cares? The shows are Friday-Sunday. A Thursday rate doesn't help many, and the week rates don't help anyone. I'd be pretty surprised to see any casino hotel with rates under about $200 a night for these shows, even for the Sunday night.

Hey guys, I went ahead and booked Bally's and got a total of $500 for Fri - Mon using Total Rewards card from Vegas Harrah's, etc.

Totally gross, probably? I'm really not that concerned about the quality of the room, I don't guess...but wondering how to get to venue?

Also, how definite is everyone feeling this is for Atlantic City?

AC looks like a definite. And I bet the room will be fairly nice, it's still a casino. I wouldn't expect Vegas like ammenities but Bally's is actually a pretty nice casino. You won't want to walk to the venue from Bally's, I'd say driving or taking a taxi would be the best bet, but there's also some people who think that some of the casinos will run shuttles back and forth from the casinos. It's definitely not in walking distance though. If you have any other questions feel free to ask in here or PM me, I've been to AC quite a few times.

I'm really torn on whether or not to book a casino. There's decent hotels within a 15 minute drive of AC that are a lot cheaper. I'll probably wait and see if the casinos will be offering shuttles or if the WH will be offering discounts or something.

I'm thinking the same thing. I'm also waiting to see if NYC gets confirmed or not. That's the big one for me. It's about 2-2.5 hours closer of a drive.

Yea if NYC happens I'll probably end up hitting up that one too. AC is like a 5 hour drive from Massachusetts so it's not too bad. It also gives me a great excuse to gamble down there and hit up the beach.

I'm from Mass. too, so I'm in the same boat. There's pros and cons to both, but it'll end up coming down to cost and probably feature acts for me.

Billerica, right next to Burlington. I've never been to AC but just mapquesting that area says it's a 6.5 hour drive.

6.5 is a stretch, just a word of advice, avoid 95. I'm from Springfield but I go to school in Waltham.

Well the WH has offered hotel packages for the vegas shows so hopefully they will have something similar with some of the casino hotels in AC.

Bally's actually isn't that bad, but the casino floor definitely feels very old and outdated. It's kind of got a cool 1970's vibe though -- lots of black glass and gold trim.

I remember playing craps there with my buddy's grandfather who passed away a few years back. He was an awesome guy, and every time he threw he'd go, "What is it?" (dealer tells him) "Shit. Bet!" and so on for hours.

How were the hotel packages in Vegas? Were they much of a discount?

Any recommendations on hotels/motels where my life won't be in jeopardy? Even right outside the city would be fine and relatively cheap would be nice.

Pretty much no matter where you stay is going to run at least $200 a night. Check out the hotels in Absecon on Route 30 near the Harley Davidson dealership. There's a Clarion Inn, Holiday Inn Express, etc. that are all pretty decent. Don't look at the ones closer to AC on Route 30 though -- they're all shady as fuck.

Your other option of course is just staying in AC itself, which may work well depending on what kind of transportation they're going to offer (if any) to the shows. You're talking over $200 a night there at the casinos though, but there's also a Sheraton, Marriott and the Chelsea that sometimes have better rates (can't speak to the quality of any of these places though).

If you have AAA, go through their website to book; if you don't, spend the bucks and get it; Topicana, $109/night. Definitely not the Borgata, but at least I have a room where I don't have to worry about red rum being painted on the walls.

so does anyone have any idea if they would charge admission for a 2 year old? I haven't ever been to a festival so i don't really know whats it like and I have absolutely no one that would be able to watch my daughter for so long. but i think it would be awesome to bring her but I just can't justify spending the money for her too

Knowing their management, they'd charge double admission to a pregnant woman just to get a few extra bucks....so I think youre stuck in a predicament...just beg a friend to babysit, itll be cheaper then a ticket to this festival
