It's the story that quint tells in his epic monologue in Jaws (my favorite movie, btw). I haven't seen "how jaws changed the world" I'm gonna have to see if I can find it online.

Am I the only one who gets pissed when the news shows a canned image of a great white shark when talking about a shark attack of a different species? My wife laughs at me because I yell at the tv and fire off angry emails to ABC. Really, you can't find an image of a fucking bull shark you fucks!!!

When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'. Until he bites ya and those black eyes roll over white. And then, ah then you hear that terrible high pitch screamin' and the ocean turns red and spite of all the poundin' and the hollerin' they all come in and rip you to pieces.
Y'know by the end of that first dawn, lost a hundred men! I don't know how many sharks, maybe a thousand! I don't know how many men, they averaged six an hour. its not just about sharks, its a lot about the movie-making industry, the creation of the summer blockbuster, and how the worldview on sharks has changed since

i love anything related to the making of the movie

Just remembered that I exchanged emails with Greg Skomal back in 2009 when the great whites were first spotted in MA. I was actually surprised at how responsive he was... guy loves what he does (I don't blame him, I'd love it too!).

They've been filming in this area pretty much ever since the whites were first sighted back in 09. The attack is real (it was all over the local news at the time).

It's so awesome to see the technological advances they've been able to make since 09. Thy were just using really old school sat tags back then. They wouldn't know shit until it surface 3-6 months later.

I'm a little disappointed in Shark week this year, reruns they've been showing from past years are way more entertaining to me. Voodoo Shark felt like I was just watching Swamp People.
