Re: The Head and the Heart

Recently discovered Of Monsters and Men. They have both a male and female singer, so they remind me a bit of The Head and the Heart.

Really enjoy the sound from both bands.

They opened for D&T in Seattle in 2010 and they rocked. I wasn't super impressed the first night just because I'm picky about music but by the end of the set I found myself singing along. The second night I was all about 'em! They're great! Fun energy and the chick on the violin was awesome!

Good to hear there's a new album on the way. Opening 3 nights at the Gorge would be rough with only an albums worth of material.

Except the male singer in Monsters sounds like the biggest pile of douche on the planet. I can't stand the way he sings. Ruins the band for me.

It's a shame too, because I like the music, and love the girls voice.

Also, it says there's a Citi presale, but I can't find anything on the Citi Private Pass site about it.

Sound's like more tour dates are going to be announced in a couple weeks. Including Indy so I think I am going to hold off on the Chicago show and hope it fits into my schedule. I'm guessing it will be right after the St. Louis show.

They have posted on Facebook that they will be in Indy and on the West Coast before the end of the year in the comments on their posts.

Got the presale info, but they only opened it for one of the Austin shows. Don't know what that shit is about.

Hopefully they open the Citi one for the other show.

And they just replied to a tweet from my brother's girlfriend saying the Indy show will be 10/24. Such a perfect date for me.

Said they are announcing it August 12th so maybe you West Coasters will get an announcement then as well.

I lost out on Chicago tickets. I might try for Indy.

Plus the 24th is a Thursday so that's a big help for me.

I honestly can't stand how either of them sing but I find the female to be super annoying in the way she accents/pronounces some world. For example, the chorus of Mountain Sound is awful IMO.

They also bring zero energy to their show (the two singers) ...I saw them back in May. I do really enjoy the bands sound a lot. Hopefully they will get better as front man and woman as things progress.

I'm undecided on whether I want to do Chicago on a Friday night or Royal Oak on a Tuesday. Royal Oak is my hometown venue and it's all GA! Does anyone know anything about the Chicago venue. Is it seated?
