But, it doesn’t. A lot of bands don’t sound better year after year. This band continues to improve and sound great.
The issue for most is, simply put, they’re different now than they were in 1991. They went from 1 album to 10 (11 counting Dave solo). They lost two original members.
Mathematically, if Dave was to be even and fair every night, we’d get 2 songs from each album. That’s a stretch to get a song you like. Chances are he won’t be fair like that so then it gets even more out of wack (BW in Charlotte)
Bottom line, the band is still playing and having fun. The crowds are having fun.
For the few hardcores that don’t like it or leave halfway through, that’s fine. But then I’d suggest just stop listening.
This is what the band is now. And I think it’s great.
