Wasn’t a good ep BUT I feel like it could have been ok if that actor wasn’t absolutely horrible. Lamest bad guy ever.

Didn’t think that at all. Not that I particularly cared for her character but she was perfectly fine, I thought.

    Other dude just sucked.

seriously, she almost would've fit right into the SW Holiday Special. I was just kind of shaking my head in wonder the whole time.

and generally I like Amy Sedaris, but this was the wrong way to go.

you must’ve read the same article I did. Because there’s no fucking way the Holiday Special pops into your mind without some kind of reminder. I can’t imagine anyone seeing it more than once.

well, yes and no. I didn't read whatever article you did, but I also didn't come to the Holiday Special on my own out of nowhere. I watched some hour documentary earlier today on youtube about the model making done at ILM for the original trilogy, and one of the 'suggested' ones attached to that was some 20 minute video essay about the whole history of the special, so I watched that.

This is just nitpicking to nitpick but why did they have to use the sequels and laugh of an actual baby for "Baby Yoda" rather than using some other sound/dubbing the laughs? Comes off as lazy. Again, I'm just nitpicking

A lot of times foley (the art of creating sound for film/tv/games) is dictated by a point versus an actual sound. They are more than likely trying to drive home the fact that baby Yoda is a baby even though the script says he’s 50. If he makes weird noises that are unfamiliar to our ears we don’t relate to him as a baby. If he coos and gurgles our minds think cute, helpless being and react accordingly. So it’s not being lazy so much as trying to draw a connection between foreign and familiar to the viewer.

I'm more concerned with the fact that he sounded like a rancor or wampa or something when Sedaris first became aware of his presence on the ship in this last episode.

Not about the show, but since there's no general Star Wars thread I'll put it here. I'm looking at ANH again, and it occurs to me, the whole "who shot first?" argument is irrelevant however you cut it. Fans got upset when Lucas made the change to have Greedo technically shoot first to have Han seem less of a cold blooded, rogue sort of guy, right?
Except even in the version where Greedo shoots, his and Han's shots come so quickly on top of one another, you can't make a rational argument that Han's only shooting out of self-defense, that because Greedo made the first move. Han was obviously firing already anyway, so however you initially regarded that for his character, it remains intact.

Great point for why it should have just been left alone from the beginning.

It should have been left alone. Han shot first. Han should have shot first. Han also redeems himself after being the type of guy who shoots first and takes his bounty. Never should have been changed. We're all big people who can handle that reality in our little fantasy world.

Maybe Han has jedi reflexes, and that's why he shot so soon after Greedo in the revised version.
