I saw Gojira open for Mastodon about 5-6 years ago. They put on a good show.

Yeah I haven’t seen either. If the schedule holds I’ll see them next year opening for the Deftones. I have never really been into the Deftones but maybe seeing them live will change that? I got tickets for me and my song just to see Gojira.

Feel the same way about the Detones. They don’t really do anything for me and seeing them live did nothing to change it.

Excellent... but now that I think of it - it was 20 fucking years ago! You know you're old when you come to the realization that Incubus has been around for more than 20 years. Saw them in 99 open for Primus (also incredible live) and 2000 opening for the Deftones.

I was a huge fan of their early stuff... they started to lose me with Morningview though. And everything after that has been basically crap.

I thought I liked the Deftones. That song "My Own Summer" is a rager. But I saw them last year at Exit 111 and they were not great. It was good from a performance standpoint but their music is what I imagine it sounds like to listen to nu-metal while zonked on heroin.

Yeah I was into Incubus back in the day for sure but never saw them live. Seems like they fell off the map.

I saw Primus in 99 too in the family values tour if I recall. They were awesome. Sevendust was there too and I specifically remember enjoying their set a lot too even though they weren't that into them. Redman and Method Man got in a fight with fans, too. Was something else.

They are incredible live. They don't quite crack my top 5 (Pink Floyd, Prince, Paul McCartney, Dream Theater, Tool) but they are probably in the next bunch.

Pink Floyd was my very first concert (1994)... which, in reality, probably wasn't the best thing for my expectations of other live shows. It wasn't until 10 years later (Prince) that I saw something that I could put on that level. And I haven't seen anything near those 2 since. Tool/DT are fantastic and I will go see them whenever given the opportunity (I've seen DT more than any other band not named DMB)... but they can't touch those Floyd/Prince shows.

I'll second that Prince nod. I wasn't a huge fan but went to a show with a buddy because I like live music. Damn. Was totally blown away by his live presence, and probably the tightest and funkiest live band I've ever seen. Tough to describe how incredible it was.

Besides DMB, I have to say in no order that Korn, Primus, Rob Zombie, Black Sabbath and Motley Crue are the most entertaining shows I have ever seen. Never got to attend the classics like Rush, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, etc.
