Yes, traffic will be backed up, but there are multiple ways in. I would assume you're taking 71 down? I would take 71S into Kentucky via 471S. 471 will take you to 275E (less than 10 minutes after you get on 471) and you're almost back in Ohio. You'll go over the Combs Hehl Bridge and Riverbend is the first exit after the bridge (Kellogg Rd Exit 72). If you get on the Combs Hehl and traffic in the right lane is fucked, stay left of it and go to the next exit on 275 (New Richmond Exit 71). Take route 52 West back toward kellogg and follow the signs for the casino or Riverbend. It's not really out of the way at all. Both Exits might get backed up, but I'd say if you're in the area by 7:20 - 7:30 you should be fine. Band usually doesn't go on til 8:15 anyway.
Sorry if you know all of this already, but you said you haven't been to Riverbend so... I think you'll be ok if you leave at 6, but I understand how shitty traffic can get.
