Interesting. I just mentioned earlier today in this thread how I was surprised that Break For It was not being discussed more and how I think with some tweaking it'd be a great song for an album.

it could mean absolutely nothing and who knows if they would even re-work or rename it but I definitely agree I'd be happy seeing it on the album. for some reason I always liked the vegas soundcheck version the best:

Hmm!! it would fit really well with the newer batch of songs! I haven't heard it until now, listening to this 2007 soundcheck. Maybe it will actually be the album opener as people were walking backwards into with referencing Busted Stuff and Broken Things with various rewordings using C and O, but there are many good openers to choose from!

Those two main vocal notes harmonizing, as well as very low bass from Stefan, are really heavenly and given enough time to grow (such as now) will only be moreso....!!

Something I am curious to hear on the new album is if there are any songs that fade out or if they all have distinct endings like BWGK. Hoping for all distinct endings.

Wow, I've actually never heard that version. Thought just the IEM version was inc circulation prior to debut in 2010 and then of course DMB 25. I agree, I do like that version.

From what I think I understand, ASCAP and the Copyright database are two very different things. Both have uses though. My brief understanding is the copyright database protects your work while ASCAP is more about generating revenue on account of the work (i.e., if a radio station plays your song).

Break For It could be a great song but it's an older batch song and the first single is allegedly a newer batch song.

Another interesting tidbit (probably not meaninful of anything) is that through 2016, all the Live trax and other releases were being copyrighted, and then it stops dead, even though there have been additional releases since.

This is a good point out, but Id be very surprised if Break for It was 1. renamed or 2. considered for a single.

Wouldn't Break For It be a little slow for a first single? It's a good slow jam, but not something that would get a lot of radio play I imagine.

Yea, I think so, but a lot of people were also pushing Samurai Cop and I think that song is slow as well. Mercy was slow.
