That would imply the whole band would want to do this. I think CT and WATM are Dave Projects, with some obligation from the record label. He more or less saves the band the trouble, and just does as much as he can solo and/or pulls from older sessions.
I would love a true full band new album with real collaboration from all members. WATM certainly was newish music to us, but half of those songs were written before the sessions and some lean heavily towards Dave solo songs. Plus the isolated manner in which it was created didn't lend itself to be a true full band effort IMO.
But if that could be accomplished, a producer who would challenge and inspire them would be ideal. Not Rob Evans. Not John Alagia. Nothing against them, but they are friends with the band and not really able to tell Dave to do something better or that a song isn't good. They're gonna give the green light to everything.
