Phish gets it, and does it right.
Price seems high to me, but alas it’s cheaper than paying for an original and since I don’t have one….

DMB does a pretty good job- but there are thing they could tweak and make their fans happy and get richer doing it.

Awesome that they’re including that 7”

DMB needs to do this with Streets and include a 7” of Help Myself b/w something else

$50 for the 2LP set, which should be audiophile-esq quality, seems about fair. When you have someone like Bellman cut lacquers it’s going to be a bit pricey, but sonically worth it (IMO). $15 for the 7” seems steep though, but in for a penny…

For the B side of a Help Myself 7” would you prefer:

    1) Fully mixed studio cut of Get in Line
    2) Fully mixed studio cut of #40
    3) An unfinished MacHead demo

I think the fan base at large would rather the MacHead Demo just so that we can finally unlock that song from the vault. But I’m willing to wait for a future Demos release for MacHead. I’m a big fan of Get In Line, and I don’t know if a studio version truly exists, but if it does that’s what I’d select. Would be freaking stoked for any of the 3 though.

I'd rather have Get in Line but only if it's a finished product. I highly doubt they'd put MacHead on vinyl.

They wouldn’t put any bonus tracks on the vinyl release of the album, but it’s possible they’d consider something similar to what Phish did - put the bonus track on a 7” or something as a bonus item alongside a standard release.

    Yeah, I get that. What I'm saying is I don't think they'd put MacHead on a 7".

Does anyone really think they'd press a song with improv about a tapeworm onto vinyl? We'll be lucky if we ever hear it.

I also used a key phrase in an earlier post as to why I don't think it would get released on vinyl as a bonus track. I absolutely think it should be available as a digital bonus.

I’d say they’d be better off, in a hypothetical where a BTCS anniversary release ever happens and a 7” is included, putting something from the studio that was a complete tune, or otherwise maybe select 2 live D&T performances of BTCS tracks.

D&T Dreaming Tree b/w The Stone or something.

It's my understanding they left Get in Line and #36 off Crash as bonus content because they were really rough demos. I'm with you, if they don't have anything complete enough to consider releasing put some D&T of Rapunzel, DT, and Stone on there.

Would probably better be served as a track on a Demo compilation down the road, or do you think there’s enough recorded to be considered for a bonus track on a BTCS remaster ala Song That Jane Likes/Dancing Nancies on the UTTAD remaster?

Same story with these 2, my thinking is better released on a future Demos boxset

If it gets released as bonus content I assume it would be digital and not vinyl. I have no idea or any indications of their plans for releasing things from the vault.

The story I've always heard (and I think Lillywhite himself even mentioned it) has it as Machead.

Also, Jake's article on the song confirms it as Machead as well.

Why would they be embarrassed to release lyrics about a tapeworm? They’ve put out plenty of official releases with cringey lyrics.
