A couple people had the tent style camping toilets, but the waste just goes into a bucket and fuck all if I'm going to be the one that deals with disposing of that after the show.

Thank you for reaching out to Texas Johns for a quote! If you would be okay with a delivery fee of Friday, May 19th and removal of Monday, May 22nd then no additional weekend fees will incur. Below I have included pricing for our Standard Event unit and have also attached a brochure with other services that we provide.

Standard Event Unit (Order of 1):
    Rental - $185 + tax
    NO DELIVERY FEE
    NO PICK-UP FEE
Additional Fess – 7% Chemical Waste Disposal Fee (added to the total bill pre-tax)

*Pricing above reflects Monday-Friday delivery/removal of the unit(s). If weekend delivery/removal is required, it will incur a $350 fee per trip.*

Anyone have any venue contacts? There are no shows so far those times. Waiting on a couple other potties.

Coming from NJ for the first 2 shows of the U.S. tour. I see from this thread that Dallas is obviously a park-and-tailgate situation. Is it the same for Woodlands?

    Thanks!

Woodlands is basically in the middle of an outdoor mall. If you stay at any of the hotels near the venue/mall area walkable from hotel. I rely on groups to guide my adult child self but that’s what I recall.

What are the best barbecue places around Dallas near the venue? I've been to Rudy's and had a great experience. Any other recommendations?

    RUDYS? oh boy.

Go to Pecan Lodge. very close to the venue and my favorite BBQ in Dallas.

Terry Blacks is right down the street a couple hundred yards and people rant and rave about that as well.

Finally going to work out where I can make it to Woodlands for the first time! Excited to check it out! So, looks like the lawn is not a bad spot for the show? I'm debating whether to use wh show preference for Houston instead of Dallas (like normal) bc i can use the lawn pass at Dallas this year.

But also thinking about using my preference for n3 Gorge even though it'll likely be a waste.

If you were doing it solo would you rather pit or lawn?

I think the preference box is about as useful as the door close button on an elevator.

If I were solo, I'd rather do pit, but the Woodlands pit is TINY and extremely difficult to get. Dallas wasn't always a difficult pit, but it's become one lately. So I wouldn't bank on getting pit for either.

I don't like agreeing with a boomer sooner icon, but this advice is spot on. With real Texas BBQ, you need to be prepared to show up pretty early and stand in line. I don't know if they still have it, but a few years ago Pecan Lodge used to let you do a walk-in pickup and skip the line if you ordered >$100 in advance (which is very easy to do).

If I do, I will be flying from Houston and would prefer not to rent a car for just one day.

Looks like the green line goes from Historical Downtown St. Paul Station to MLK Station right by the park/venue? Is that a good option to get to and from?

Any helpful tips for Dallas? Do I need to bring a cowboy hat? boots?

Considering doing a quick trip out to Houston for the tour opening album release day show. Sounds cooler than it will probably actually be, but still co soldering it.

How’s Woodlands as a venue? I know the area a teeeeny bit but have never been to the venue. Looks like a few hotels within walking distance, is that true?

Ok to be lawn or is it just way better in seats?

Thanks all! Maybe we will see ya there

The venue is fantastic. Probably under-rated as venues go. The lawn is fine, pretty spacious. You can find groups to be near that are there to party and groups way more chill. Tough to get pit tickets. Lots of hotels nearby but they are pricey that weekend. Even for hotels a few miles away you can just drive over and park at the mall to walk to the venue.

I switched over to there too. It's a little more than La Quinta but it has a shuttle to and from the show, so I think that alone is worth it.

Do most of you guys do the lawn in Dallas? I'll be doing lawn both shows so looking for some buddies!

I’m scared of lawn in Dallas. Definitely welcome and no need to bring anything to tailgate maybe some drinks for yourself but everyone normally brings plenty for all. Dallas tailgate is a great deal of fun. Still trying to get a bathroom delivered.

Heim is top notch DFW BBQ but it's like 25-30 minutes from the venue.

Terry Black's is excellent in Deep Ellum, probably 10-15 minutes away from the venue.

No real need to bring anything, other than maybe your own chair if you like to sit. We'll have plenty of food.

Piker's whole group does lawn at Dallas. They can provide you protection on the lawn for a nominal fee. I wouldn't advise braving it alone. I've seen a lot of strong men come out permanently broken after trying to solo the Dallas lawn.

Have been thinking about taking my 9-year old to Dallas for his first concert. If we got seats, I don't think he'd be able to see with everyone standing, so we'd be out on the lawn. How terrible of an idea is that?

I haven't been on the lawn for DMB in over 15 years. I can live with the risk of Dave dropping an F-bomb. But how many other... extracurricular activities are happening out on the lawn? The last time I was out there, the teens sitting next to me asked if I had any weed.
