There’s a new Holiday Inn Express and Embassy Suites within a mile of Deer Creek. Prices are about $190 per night.

I need more clarity on camping options! There are too many options and I'm a first timer!

I've done the Gorge a few times so that's my baseline.

I'm not really a late night partier and will usually head to bed after the shows or sit around and chat/drink for a while until I pass out.

Looking for somewhere that's chill with cool people, grilling food, drinking some beers, playing some yard games maybe, not too crowded.

Do all the camping spots have a "night 0"? (check into camping the day before the show).

You are looking for Dead Creek, Backstage or Green Acres. And yes there is N0.

Sleepy Bear & General are up til real late and usually little to no space.

Green Acres has all of the above. Food vendors, ice and firewood for sale, and solid showers. I'm sure the other ones do too, I've just had such a great experience at Green Acres every time that I've never even considered another place.

Yeah I checked out the site and it looks good to me. Are you on your own for getting the the shoes? Is there any shuttle offered? You know how I have been known to have a few beers before shows. Not big on the idea of having no option other than driving up

Backstage does a shuttle, which is a must. You dont want to be drinking and driving. There have been checkpoints for some shows and its notoriously strict. I imagine the other off-site campgrounds do too.

I know I've seen buses shuttling people in the past, but never taken one. If we end up camping together I have no problem driving us to and from the shows. I like having a vehicle at the show to do tailgating. (Drive to the venue is literally about 5 minutes.)

What we have done in the past is chill at the campground, beers, etc during the afternoon, and then head over to the venue around 5 or so to tailgate. I'll have a few beers (and some cough, other enhancements ), then just not drink during the show. By the time the show is over I'm totally good to make the short drive back and have a few more back at the campground.

Really good people running the place. Very lax and spacious lots with plenty of trees. Been.going there since 2007.

Good deal Alex. From what I’ve been reading from you it seemed like you kept it in check and drove over. I’m leaning towards that plan. Getting pumped for a new venue checked off the list

Lot of the Alpine goers may be coming to Creek now, lower level tix are going to be even harder to find than normal this year but I'm thinking N1&N2 both sell out

Alpine was skipped before and numbers were about the same. N2 will sell out but doubt N1 does.

Was curious about the ticket situation. Looks like a smallish pavilion, not a bad seat under the roof? Do you get obstructed views when you get to the extreme outside seats like you do at Alpine?

I’m thinking a lot of people who normally hit Alpine are hitting DC this year.

Not a bad seat in the pavillion. Most people here do lawn one night. I do lawn both nights. Great sightlines and sound from almost anywhere.

I always do pavilion. Try to at least be in the center sections of uppers (if I can't get lowers) - E-F-G. However I don't think there's any issues with obstruction like those far side seats at Alpine. The pit at Deer Creek is TINY and gets packed like a sardine can.

Yep pit there I always hang towards the back. Even in 2015 though that back got crowded as hell.

Around 100 bucks a night, and not too long of a drive from the venue.

Not a bad seat under the pavilion at all. We typically do lawn one night and reserved the next night. We are hitting Deer Creek this year (my only shows since I will have a son born in late February)

Thats why we go every year. Always a venue that gets some great sets. There isn't a bad seat either. Even lawn is a pretty good view if you get there early.

Staying at sleepy bear solo. Not many of my 22-23 year old friends are interested in a 6 hour road trip to see a band they hardly know. Would love to get together with some people from the thread!
