What are your expectations for the new DMB album?

1. (The best of) "Some Devil"-esque songwriting and lyrics (So Damn Lucky, Stay or Leave, Dodo, An Another Thing, Gravedigger)
2. Will be the best album since BTCS by far
3. Full band inclusion, as in everyone in the band will be heard and heard well
4. A "Crash" like sound (the audio mix and in variety of songs)
5. Will be their comeback record, the way "All That You Can't Leave Behind" was for U2
6. The album will have at least three of their best songs ever (equivalents of "Beautiful Day" for U2)

^^ I agree. I think it will be a combination of Some Devil and Crash, sound-wise, with a little bit of a dark twist.

Well I think that the fact that this has all happened seemingly very quickly is a good thing, I think we will get a very natural sound from a band that is naturally a 'live band'
I for one liked BW but think it was a little over produced and think that Lillywhite will bring his ability to tone back some larger elements (Tim's overpowering guitar) so that it feels like it is more a sum of all of it's parts rather than one or two main components in each song.

I will be interested to see what Dave comes up with lyrically, is it wrong to say that he is in too nice a place these days, I prefer it when he is a bit darker and cynical.

My expectations are of something on par with BW, but with a more raw feel - but still not quite at Big 3 standard
