I trust Biden's plan, everything has been moving in the right direction recently. It was just very surprising to hear him say we may be able to have small gatherings in July. I have basically never stopped taking part in small gatherings, as allowed by current rules.

25% per section (not sure what defines a section) or 9,000 max which ever is lower.

That is provided the county meets the metrics for Phase 3 which the entire states moves to Phase 3 March 22nd.

If that county does not meet the metrics then that county drops to Phase 2.

So it turns out my neighbor is the GM for DC and he has it on good authority that most, if not all, June events will be postponed.

They are not expecting to start hosting live events until July at the earliest.

Selfish me wants the tour to start in July at Chicago because if they started at the gorge, I won’t be able to make as we are expecting our second daughter around then.

Knowing this band and how they are with world issues, wouldn’t shock me to scrap the whole summer tour. It’s a nightmare from a scheduling stand point, PR standpoint trying to explain to fans of cancelled shows that they’ll get there as soon as they can etc.

I’m really hoping they do a fall/winter tour with fresh ticketing. Seems to be the fairest. That also is a scheduling challenge with the arenas scheduled for winter sports and other artists wanting to come back out on the road. Dates are gonna be hard to book. Wish we had a crystal ball because the unknown sucks.

I say Dave and Tim tour in the summer in front of 1,500 fans like they normally do, Dave can work out the cobwebs so to speak from a touring and voice perspective (not that his voice needs it) and then start the tour in September.

Heck, maybe DMB can do a 25 year anniversary show at Lupos in RI again in front of 2,000 fans. I know it was 1995 but COVID bumps it a year.

Good to hear some solid information, but not really surprising. The reality of the situation is that while it might be possible to hold shows in June (warm weather, outdoors, vaccines, etc.), there are just too many unknowns for a large act to risk ramping up their touring machinery. Any setback, a surge, a variant, a stubborn governor keeping restrictions in place, could torpedo things.

On the plus side, if the tour really does open at the Gorge, this may be the year I finally make it out there. What a celebration that would be.

I think we are looking at the tour starting at the Gorge, September happening as planned, and Northeast/Midwest/South dates at the usual indoor venues.

I do think we get a few shows here and there, but not a full blown tour.

At this point a few shows here and there would feel like a huge win. You can go into 2022 pretty confident a real tour could happen.

Eh it's ok, at this point it was expected. I guess I feel dumb for 'adding' Deer Creek to my planned tour stops last year when the reschedule was announced, but what are ya gonna do? I just hope Ticketmaster doesn't give us the runaround again.
