I wonder what the thought process was behind so many arenas.

Cheaper rental fees due to slightly lower ticket sales? Id guess a mix of that and hitting more non traditional markets.

I was just personally pointing to Bristow, noone should waste their time traveling there unless its the only or one of few viable options to see a show. Terrible parking, generic cookie cutter venue in the middle of nowhere and sets generally are lame.

While I agree there is nothing special about the venue....it will always be special to me in that it is the last place I or anyone else got to see Leroi play that sweet music.....

Parking does suck and so does getting in and out.....so we just walk to the venue from the hotel....havent parked at Nissan since 2008....

It is still a "hometown" show for the boys and aside from Cville, I dont feel "closer" to Leroi anywhere else.....I won't miss a show there regardless of the "negatives" about the venue.

I must say, it's amazing to see this list built tour after tour. Thanks to all of the sources that come forward with info. Even if it turns out that things change, it makes for great discussion.

And yes, I know that even this thought gets repeated tour after tour...but it still holds true.

I always wondered why RHCP did arenas a couple summers ago when I saw them in Chicago. Guaranteed good weather between storms and heat?

I was there too. Fucking terrible weather that day. They had to cut the show short because of the lightning. They ended up not playing Typical Situation, and an encore of Pig and Rapunzel because of it

From just a logistics point of view I would guess Missoula and the rumoured S.D. Date would be before the gorge and Portland would be after on the way to Cali but just a complete guess....

I agree. I live close to Columbus, where it seems they are likely to play an arena show this summer. However, I will be traveling to either Riverbend or Deer Creek instead for that very reason, I’d rather see them at an amphitheater if I had the choice. My last 2 DMB shows have been in arenas (Columbus 2016 and 2018), so I need a change. I wish I could go to multiple shows but that’s not the way my life works.
