With 3 shows, its literally impossible for one out of this world show. Theres too much bad material for that to happen now.

On a related note, I watched part of the Crush video for the 1st time a couple days ago. We had stopped watching MTV for a few years already, so I haven't seen many videos that were released after the early to mid '90s.

My friend who introduced me to DMB is one. He was a super fan before BTCS, would play it for me all the time. I was a very casual fan at the time. BTCS came out and I liked the sound quite a bit, and he was incensed. Too dark, too depressing, "they changed", etc... Took roughly a decade and the album grew on him a little bit, but he hands down hated the change in sound when BTCS was released. I remember there being others like him, just really upset by the new direction the band had taken. I know he had friends that would see multiple shows a year that stopped going when BTCS was released and they never came back.

I mean seriously, people who are critiquing sets like this, take a biggg step back and really ask yourself what it is about it that you don't like? Because I'm guessing it's not about, ya know, the music, but it's about you being tired of religiously checking DMB setlists every fucking year and still being bitter about it.

I don’t listen to Nickelback. And I was referring to the entire 2 night stand, not just N1. Lot of overplayed songs in N2’s set. N1 is definitely the better of the 2 nights.

I'll Back You Up and Diggiging a Ditch with 4 plays last year and none yet this year.

Obviously Everyday stands out, they must really be burnt out on that to be in the top 10 of songs played last year to none almost halfway through the tour this year.

Perfectly okay with all of these being missing. Pretty interesting how this tour has covered the same bases as last year yet many still praise '21 over this year. You could argue this list of clunkers was replaced with a few more CT songs in rotation but that's it. The rest is just a more interesting liberation list, great power slot selection/variety, and better encores. I'm still feeling '22

A big part of my love of DMB shows is getting songs I haven't seen yet. Even if it's a song I don't love, I'm usually good with saying at least I got to see it at least once. Across 4 shows this tour I finally have a chance to get:

The Dreaming Tree
The Stone
Break Free
Break For It
Shotgun
(+ the new songs)

These are all songs that I LOVE. DT is my top DMB song. I can't believe after 11 years I still haven't gotten The Stone yet. I won't let myself get too excited because I've learned the hard lesson of getting my hopes squashed by You and Me for the 12th time. But still, 2022 could become my favorite year of seeing the band yet as far as individual songs go, and I'm hopeful!

With hindsight, I can fully appreciate the Mansford twofer, BUT Hartford did the vast majority of the work from my perspective. This Jones Beach/Jersey twofer, however, was far better balanced and a great pair of shows. Congrats to those that got to enjoy both live.

He's been doing it the entire history of the band. But some years he does it more than others. Some years it's a mix of both solo E1 and full band.

2001, he did it a ton.
