Re: how many 'old timer' Ants left on the boards?

Really only come back if something DMB-specific comes up. Tour start today; went to my first show in a few years last fall; I'll probably be back for album stuff/the Hollywood Bowl shows later this year.

Also, by far my favorite thing about this thread is seeing posts by people I apparently muted at some point in the past? Truly can't remember any of them, oop

Still checking in once in awhile and come to see the setlists when they are on tour once a week or so. I haven't seen DMB in a number of years, would like to change that but sometimes life gets in the way...

I basically got so offended for being given shit over not searching a topic before starting a thread that I haven't really posted in sixteen years, but ya I lurk these boards

Re: how many 'old timer' Ants left on the boards?

Never been a big poster on here, but I typically peruse the boards for a couple weeks leading up to the ~1 show I attend each year just to get caught up on what the current state of DMB is. Went to my first show in 2002. Was more active on another message board (nancies?) before joining here. Was a much bigger fan in my college days, being in my early 40s and having 2 kids, I've lost a lot of my interest in the band, but still attend the local show with my wife because it's tradition and don't want to give it up just yet.

Not an original by any means, but I have been here since 2006. I was 15 at the time, which feels like a lifetime ago.

I discovered DMB in 2002 and am definitely not an old timer. I would consider an old timer someone who was a fan during the release of the three legendary DMB albums. A lot of those folks truly lost interest after Everyday was released.

I tend to agree. Old timer to me was someone that saw a show 98 or earlier. The hardcore fanbase had a major turnover after everyday was released in favor of the lws.

been listening since 2000 but by the time I saw my first show (2005) the band's best years were already behind them

Same here. I was a Nancies member back in the late 90s/early 00s. Went to my first show in '96 and went to a steady stream from then through 2005 or so. Lost interest and stopped seeing the band but came around a couple years ago because I dig the new line-up and sound.

Very little has changed on these boards other than the immense resources available now (easy ability to generate and see tour stats, ability to download shows almost instantly vs. having to find and trade, etc.) People argue over the same shit ("90% of post-BTCS sucks!" vs. "No way! [Post-Busted Stuff album] is so underrated!" or "Boyd sounds like shit" vs. "The band would be nothing without Boyd!", etc.)

Joined 2005 so don’t quite make the cutoff, but been a fan since the mid 90s. I usually only come here around a show I’m attending (going tonight) or a new album. Place has been pretty slow for years outside of the usual suspects complaining about the usual things otherwise.

Yes! She was great and I think she married Jon ice (taper). But donít quote me on that. I stoped posting regularly once I made the transition from b&p to torrent. But now I found the ants app that streams shows so thatís pretty cool. Honestly I never expected to be here for 20 years.
