Re: I don't know about you, but I'm feeling '22 (tour chat)

Thru 4 shows, fwiw:

‘21 - 60 unique songs
‘22 - 48 unique songs

I think I counted ‘21 correctly, could be more.

Maybe it’s just me but I feel like the mix can make or break the sound with this version of the band
It sounds very good from what I can tell. Weren't there issues with the mix last year? I seem to recall people saying the tapers were sounding better than Sirius, but I don't remember exactly. I don't have any complaints this year, though.

Are you in the SiriusXM app or using a radio? From what I understand the radio has much less of a delay. I haven't tried, though. I have noticed that even between Couch Tour streams there can be up to about a 30s lag -- I was trying to watch one that had good video, but not so great audio and listen to another that was the opposite, and it wasn't working so well.

    First 4 Shows of 2021
    2 Louisiana Bayou's

    First 4 Shows of 2022
    0 Louisiana Bayous

Also comparing Texas 2018 3 show 1 to the 2022 3 show run

    2018
    - 6 repeats from woodlands played in Dallas
-8 Repeats from Dallas played in Austin

    2022
-8 repeats from Austin played at Woodlands
-4 repeats from Woodlands played in Dallas

So 2018 had more repeats in the texas 3 step night over night than 2022

Unique songs are down but overall slots are being switched up more and sets are looking great. Unique songs doesn't paint the full picture of set variety, some like to say "people are always looking for rarity, TDs, and unique songs" but that really isn't the case. There are ways to change up sets that isn't necessarily linked to bust outs or unique songs. '22 is a perfect example of that (mid-set Grey Street and Rapunzel good examples so far).

Both songs were played mid set multiple times in '21, having them played in the same spot so far doesn't really help differentiate one tour from the other. It would be cool if they did something like mid set Two Step or closed with The Stone.

I like the sets so far but all the repeats are a bit bizarre. Night 4 of the tour only getting one true debut (no one cares about ODH) is a bit of an ouch.

Was cool to mark "Stolen Away" off of my list tonight, unfortunately no one else cared. You could almost hear the crowd over the band towards the end of it.

I liked Stolen Away. First time I had seen it since 2006. I always like hearing those songs I haven't heard in awhile, even if they aren't the fan favorite songs.

The facts are, this band is HAVING FUN and enjoying themselves. You could tell that on stage tonight. I thought great energy for a mid-week show in not a major city venue (although the venue was fantastic).

I definitely didn't want to come off as complaining as I was legitimately pumped about getting Stolen Away. I just hate the crowd is kind of dead for things like that, it felt like the only real energy came from Two Step, So Damn Lucky, Warehouse, Dancing Nancies, and YMDT.

Hope Stolen Away sticks around this year unlike last few tours when it was played once and shelved.

Thought everything from DDTW onward was awesome (minus She). Also really liked Madman’s Eyes as an opener. Was reminded of why I don’t do the pit anymore, but still had a good time. Wish I was catching them at a multiple night stand this year.

agreed man- Bearclaw just posted in the set thread he'd take it at every show and I agree, one of the highlights of my Denver weekend last year, which is saying a lot. Jeff killed it on LLD tonight, so sick you got to talk with him recently. Give Hartford my best, I grew up a few miles east on 84

Shit I forgot we got LLD last year at Denver. N1 at Denver was such a stacked set.

hahah it was, glad I did most of my partying N2, not many "pee songs" N1. Satellite for me, easily - but that came second in the night lol.

    N2 was well book-ended

These sets are making me think this might be my first year since 2000 that I don’t go. 2000 was my first show and every year I usually always attend but I can’t get myself to spend over $200 a ticket for songs I have seen 50+ times…can’t believe I’m saying that.

I'm hoping the 2 night runs start to open things up a bit more. We are 6 shows in to this thing with no Bartender, The Stone, Typical Situation, or Recently.

Sorry to be Debbie Downer but we’re 6 shows in and more or less repeating everything. Where is the creative aspect from these legends. I could understand if we were on the tail end of tour but it’s the opposite. Legit 98% of catalog untouched while they are the freshest they’re gonna be all summer. Love these guys so much but it can be frustrating following them to say the least.

They’ll get near/to 100 songs this tour. Just a slow roll.

    How do I feel?

Plays of my 10 favorite songs:

    You Never Know 0
    The Stone 0
    #41 1
