Dont buy that poster. Its trash. Its gonna be glossy printed so it will feel cheap and rip/crumble easily.

Just a cash grab for methane doing maybe 30 mins to an hour of work.

$175 is incredibly steep for essentially a "best of live show". Hard NOOOOOPE. Have at it hardcores. May you enjoy the shit out of it.

so... if you're playing at home, i would expect some/if not all of these songs to end up on a LT / DMB live in the next few years.

the "next LT" thread should be pretty dead after this, as we can see what they all will possibly be just judging from this box set.
That's a big leap. I doubt mixing a whole show vs. one song is as likely or simple as you're making it sound. I'm sure it's not a "mix one song then copy/paste settings to rest of show" type thing.

It's possible a show or two on this list is fully mixed, perhaps even previous to this set being created. But I really don't think the tracks on Live 25 are culled from future LT/DMBlive selections. A lot of them are probably one-off highlights from shows that are otherwise unremarkable.

Really, that stinks. This whole thing seems like a cash grab. The sad thing is I kinda hoped warehouse members would receive discs like this for the 25th especially with no full band tour, not asking us to drop 175 on vinyl. I can't imagine if or when they do release bsides what they will actually charge cause they know we will pay it.

Yeah thinking this band's management took the time to fully mix THAT many shows just to pull one song off of each is... I dont even know, just fully ignoring everything theyve done in the past?

except... this is EXACTLY what they've done in the past...

they're not going to pay someone to pull from archive and not mix the whole show when it's just a few extra clicks and they have it canned for a full release later.

again, they do this all the time. check out almanac. nearly all wh releases and promo releases get full show releases down the road.

This release for me is an absolute homerun. Great song selection. Vinyl exclusivity doesn't bother me personally, but I do hope others get the chance to hear it at some point.

Not sure if you're just trolling or not here, but it is nowhere near "just a few extra clicks" to mix the rest of a show.

Other than LT1, which contained the #41 from WH v1, name another full show that's been released from a WH released song.

um... okay. a few other clicks for however many tracks there are. sorry.

you always mix the whole show together for uniformity.

Minarets from SPAC 2000 was on a Warehouse disc prior to it becoming LT11. And I want to say some tracks from the Sacramento 2003 show that then ultimately became a LT? So, it does happen. But given how many individual tracks have been released on Warehouse discs and in other places to say it's "common" is a bit of an overstatement.

pull any wh live and then search the almanac for a song.

    example:

    wh8vol4 - so right

    http://www.dmbalmanac.com/TourShowSe...=72&where=2003

oh... look what other songs were mixed and released....

    example 2:

    wh10vol3 - butterfly

    http://www.dmbalmanac.com/TourShowSe...=87&where=2006

god damn. two songs from the same show on two different wh discs/years. you think they mixed those a year or two apart or mixed the whole show and have it ready to go for release?

i literally looked at my itunes and picked those songs at random then looked at the archive page for them.

it's much more cost efficient to mix a whole show rather than single tracks. if you haven't been predicting full releases from wh discs for years, you've been doing it wrong.

    example 3:

    wh8vol4 - digging a ditch

    http://www.dmbalmanac.com/TourShowSe...=72&where=2003

    WHOA!!!

    Live Trax 26??!!!!

I think it's interesting that people who aren't buying are so sour about the whole thing.

    I mean, for Christ's sake it's a business. It's a cash grab?
Don't buy the thing if it's not your cup of tea; that's fine. But the armchair music industry expert routine is tired.

Look at how many fans are into it. Seems like a success for such an "obvious" cash grab.
I couldn't care less if they could have technically add value to it by adding X and Y and Monkey Man, or if they could have made it $50. They didn't.

I asked for full show that have been released, which a few were provided, so I will agree that it does happen. To say nearly all get a release is disingenuous.

the point is... you have to know a bit about their archiving to understand how absolutely a waste of time it is to work on one track alone and that's it.

with as many tracks (not song tracks, audio tracks) that they record, EACH SHOW takes up dozens of cdr's that they store in pvc pipes in Virginia.

they're not going to pull from the vault and rip dozens of cdr's to get all the channels on a DAW to work on one song.

if they do all that work, they're going to do the entire show, as it's literally a few more clicks at that point. that way they have the entire show "in the can" to release at a later time.

which has been their M.O. for years.

they didn't put the archive material back in the vault without giving them the full treatment. nope.

Theres a chance maybe one or two shows that have these could have shows released, but not anywhere near even half of them.

I would also venture to think they know this thing is special and wouldnt taint it by releasing the entire shows for alot of these tracks and make this thing kind of useless.

    That's not an accurate statement.
i believe i said they master the full shows for every single song released. ie... they don't just pull one song and master it without doing the entire show.

then they release songs on separate releases or full releases altogether... as i proved with the almanac releases.

point being... look toward some of these songs getting a full show release.

Yeah, I'm not saying it won't happen, as it has a few times. But to say all WH releases will get a full show release, no, that's not happening. I know they have shows already mixed in their vault, LT35 was mixed long before it was released.

The bold in my statement came directly from your post. Those are your words.

    WHOA!!!

    Live Trax 26??!!!!
You actually just disproved your own point:

Take a moment and listen to Pig as released on the WH disc, and then how it sounds on LT 26. Wildly different, no? The whole mix is brighter and more rounded on the WH disc, whereas it's kind of flat on the LT. Also note that Dave's vocal at the start of Pig is missing on LT 26, but it's there on the WH disc. Same song, literally mixed TWICE for separate releases.

Now why would they mix a song twice if the full show was ready to go all along? 7/30/03 has three songs individually released prior to getting selected for a LT, and each of those songs not only sound different from the eventual LT album, but also sound pretty different from each other. Almost... as if... they were mixed... separately!

What do you guys think the chances that this makes it to the main store? I ordered one from the Warehouse but I like to keep one copy of the vinyl to play and one to display. Warehouse has a limit of one per person.
