I went with no tickets for N1 or N2 last year and got lawns for cheap, believe $15 for N2 and $40 for N1

I totally get the ticket anxiety about going without tickets, but lawns are never a problem. Worse case you buy for face at box office.

I even know of people that have been able to score Pit at the campgrounds. At wildhorse there is a ticket exchange corner where a list is kept of who is selling what.

    Re: ***Official Gorge 2016***

But to answer TH&TH and Lumineers chatter.....TH&TH started marking themselves in 2011 with appearances on the Caravan and opening for acts like the Decemberists and Dr. Dog. They toured extensively playing only behind one short LP...then had their sophomore album in 2013 and played extensively behind that....and their shows still contained a ton of their first LP. Lumineers played a ton of shows as well, but only behind one measly LP. They can take as much time to develop their music. They haven't lost any headway. They haven't lost any popularity. They've done it pretty smart, actually. Invested themselves into playing the shit out of awesome music, and then went in to develop new music, giving the new music 100% of their attention.

I wish DMB would do that. They always have summer tours every year, throw in overseas random dates/tours and fall legs. Sure, they used to have enough creative power in the 90s to write great songs around or during their touring schedule...but after awhile, the creative process and songs dry up. I wish they just took a year off from touring, or did just a short summer tour, and really invested themselves in the studio. BW was honestly a fantastic record, but heavily under the influence of Roi's death. AFTW was a nice return to mimicking themselves, but it had no lasting potential. I'd really love to see them go fresh into a studio with Cavallo. He brought out the best of modern DMB, IMO.

I was pissed about how the mail delayed the tickets that Mike (flames) bought from me. Delayed them so much that they didn't arrive until AFTER he was comfortably back from the Gorge. So pissed about that. Just added extra stress to his trip. :/

Yeah, we'll do what we can for you

I know, still a maybe. Need to figure out my life and where I'll be. That will get thrown into the equation or what show I go to, plus my desire to only have one DMB-related trip.

Oh shit. Didn't realize. Were you able to get them re-printed and held at the box office? 2014 was my year of lost tickets. Fortunately, I was able to get my Bend ticket reprinted by WH and held at will call.

They are/were/maybe still are in the studio with Cavallo on this alleged new album. I'm confused.

No, Mike and I figured out a fair (fair, in Mike's opinion, as his opinion was the only one that mattered) compromise to relieve the matter. He was super gracious about understanding and I helped him out in another way by fulfilling his request. Plus, I promised him a few local beers if I make it to Gorge this year.

I remember a photo floating around from instagram that had them in the studio with Cavallo, but I don't think anything was ever "confirmed" and whatnot.

Even if they were, it was in between their summer tour and Europe tour, so they still had touring on their mind. I really think if they were gonna put forward a good studio effort, they really need to focus on that album for a good year solidly and without interference.

It was actually before the summer tour started last year. My understanding is most of the instrumental tracks are done and they're waiting on lazy dave is lazy to finish lyrics. Rashawn instagrammed photos from the studio. But who knows. I am not holding my breath.

What is the ticket situation like for Gorge? Obviously its a popular show, but if lawn is your choice is it a show you can wait and pick up tickets later or is Warehouse and ticketmaster on sale date the way to go? I know there used to be a Gorge noob thread at one point but I couldn't locate it...

Plans are to fly in from VA. Whats the best place to fly into?

Just to echo what everyone else said if you are cool with lawn just figure out the logistics of getting there and get tickets when you get there!

Two of our friends went last year with no tickets and easily scored them each day.. Some were even free!

Can anyone tell me the best place to rent an rv near sea tac? I read the faq page but was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with a particular rental company.

    Thanks!

Is it possible to request camping for the Gorge during WH request period, but not for tickets? I'm more than likely doing lawn for all 3 nights and do not see the necessity to purchase thru WH.

Last year we weren't able to ask for just PIT/Lowers; you could only opt out of Lawn. And a ton of people ended up with Upper Reserves way out towards the sides; terrible seats

I don't recommend requesting Gorge tickets thru the Warehouse at all. Pit and Lowers are relatively easy to get thru CITI, LN regular on sale, and multiple drops thru the summer

Exactly. I requested a single pit last year and ended up having to eat the upper that I ended up with.

It takes a bit of work, but pit tickets can be found outside of the warehouse.

I do not rent an RV anymore, but my friend's rented from Ryan's RV Town last year and said that it was a great experience. They were able to return the RV on Monday even though the rental company was closed.

I think the Warehouse has a limited amount of camping, hardly hear of anyone getting it. And definitely don't request General Camping, those will be going for pennies on the dollar in August.

no reason not to request camping through WH if you want terrace or premier. if you get declined then no big deal.

Never did the CoT or other route regarding getting lawns for cheap. I should consider this.

I've always done the 3-day lawn pass through WH, as it was cheaper than buying individually, and the WH fees were a good bit cheaper than TM's. I remember ajc saying he was declined a 3-day lawn pass through WH , most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

With ticket fees and shipping fees, WH seems pretty expensive to me. A lot more than purchasing thru ticketmaster.

last year was the first year i didn't buy tickets for the gorge, we ended up snagging some three day passes from fellow ants for a bit cheaper than cost as it got closer

I think the savings you get through WH is one shipping fee for each series. So if you're going to multiple shows in a series you save on shipping over LN.

Another reason not to buy Gorge tickets from the Warehouse; although you think you're going, the Gorge is by far the most cancelled trip, and you don't want to be stuck trying to unload tickets when you don't even get them in hand until late August.

Just wondering if any of you locals have any suggestions or recommendations for places to visit, things to see, places to eat, must-do hikes, etc. up that way. Unless we can figure out an easier way to get to the island, we'll probably rent our car at the airport, take it over on the ferry, and keep it throughout the trip. Thanks in advance for any help! Can't wait!
Hey, were you looking for info on the Island or things in Seattle as well?
