Just seeing this... I think a release of FBD is happening Tuesday. Will see if my brother in law is planning on going and if so, can definitely send you some. NEBCO is about 45 min from me, call it 1:45 if I were to try to head up after work so I don't go often.

A coworker of mine is making the drive to Vermont soon for a Heady Topper trip. I asked him I am willing to pay for any amount of that fine fine beer he is willing to part ways with.

My homebrew NE style pale ale turned out pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. Lots of juicy hop character...lower bitterness...hazy with good mouthfeel.

when you brew at home, what is the cost? I am sure there is start up costs when you first start, but after that what would you spend to make a brew and how much would that yield? Asking for a friend.

This is straight from the Alchemist website:

ALL canned beer will be priced the same: $12.50 per four-pack.

That is a really fucking good price. There is nothing even close to that price per 4-pack in this area.

Trillium can go up to $21-22 per 4 pack depending on the beer.

Id pay $10 for a can of heady or focal banger. Just because its limited where im at. Ive paid close to $10 for a bottle at shops for rarer stuff so its not that out of whack.

Yeah I've got no problem paying the list price myself if I were to go to a brewery for a release. But no chance I'm paying anything above the cost to ship if I'm engaged in a trade or buy-and-send situation. I refuse to be upcharged and extorted over beer

I suppose if you've never tried it I can understand paying a premium. But doing so with any sort of regularity would be absurd. It's just beer, after all.

oh yeah for sure. Just to try something here or there id do it. But I hardly go out of my way to get stuff at breweries here so if I had a steady influx of the stuff I wouldnt pay that.

Yeah, the going rate these days is about $18-$22 per 4-pack. Citra Cutting Tiles, Heavy Mettle, DDH Congress from Trillium are all $21 per 4-pack. I have seen some Tired Hands milkshakes hit the $25 price point and there is one or two OH collabs that have hit $24.

Guy at my bottle shop said SingleCut is in that $24-26 range now. Their beer is really good, but not THAT good.

Is that what he sells it for? Or what Singlecut is charging? Might be going to Singlecut this weekend to grab some cans, but not at that price point. Would rather go to Interboro, OH, etc... and spend less for an equally, quality brew.

He said that's what they're charging shops through distributors (maybe just in CT?).

Ok, that makes sense. I know that Singlecut has ramped up distribution in CT, NJ and maybe even PA over the last few months. So would not surprise me if they pay more then what you would at the brewery. I have seen 4-packs at local shops but not how much more the local shops.

Love that Alchemist is only $12.50. Such a refreshing sight to see.

Buddy of mine just got back from VT and brought me two 4-packs of each Focal and Heady. Glad he's not a beer drinker

Tree House is usually pretty good as well. They have quite a few cans that go for $3.20-$4.20 a piece.

I'll be heading up on Friday to go to the Vermont Brewers festival and plan on going to the Alchemist Saturday. Surprisingly with all the beer people in the area that weekend, it wasn't too bad at all last year on Sat.
