I still think that The Sopranos has better binge-watch value, but man what a ride BB is... the final season is just unreal.

on and off with my rewatching of the early seasons of Breaking Bad the last few days, I've been rewatching season 1 of Daredevil in anticipation of s2. Man it's absolutely freaky how much Vladimir (the one of two Russian brothers who are part of the whole alliance Fisk has going on of organized crime) reminds me of Jesse Plemmons (aka 'Meth Damon' of BB's last couple seasons).

Episodes 6 and 7 of fuller house were straight up awful. See what people meant by Disney story lines now. First 5 episodes were great though.

Finished Fuller House last night and I liked it less and less with each episode. It just got way too Disney.

John Stamos was saying that if they get a S2 they're going to make it more focused on the kids. The kids were the worst part of this season. I can't see myself watching another season. The nostalgia was fun for a few episodes but after that it got kinda annoying.

Is Fuller House supposed to be geared towards the 90s kids who liked it before, or is it supposed to be like for the 00s kids or the 90s kids' kids? Like Girl Meets World was much more a completely new show for today's kids, rather than meant to appeal to the original Boy Meets World fans.

the first episode was geared towards the 90s kids, after that it became about the 3 girls and the kids. It was okay

girl meets world is better. But I also thought Boy Meets World > Full House

The newest episode of Horace & Pete (01x06)... wow, that hit so friggin close to home, well not necessarily in every way, but in enough ways to make that just kind of painful to watch.

btw, I only just this week noticed that in the list of "special thanks" he does at the very end of the closing credits, Joe Pesci's name is included. I mean Pamela Adlon's one of the names in there, he does it for her in like practically everything that he does, but I didn't expect to see Pesci.
Also at the end of last week's episode it said "End Of Act 1"... not sure if this means this thing is going to wind up having like 15 episodes (granted, of varying lengths) or what, I mean just going that if the whole of the first 5 episodes was merely one act of an overall story.

edit - and alright I knew something seemed very familiar about this guest actress they had playing Pete's date (and was extremely cute). Hannah Dunne, she's Carrie Lowell's (with Griffin Dunne) daughter. I can totally see that resemblance in her face.

They're trying to make it real and outrageous and failing, imo. They need to go one way or the other. That was the bread and butter in the first season, imo.

I think Mickey and Jimmy are gone. Weird that I'd rather hear about the "side" characters than the main characters.

I still lust for the "Russian' chick. Amazing cans.

I believe my feelings are probably well documented over in the dedicated Shameless thread shame, really. season 2/3, I thought this legit belonged in the conversation for best drama on television.
Season 5, if the show was a human being he went absolutely batshit schizophrenic (could even see an argument that you could see some seeds being planted for that in later, smaller s4 moments).
cut to season 6, which I've been slowly slogging thru because I'm obviously a sadist to at least some degree Furthest I've gotten last I checked was a few scenes into episode 6 (I remember Fi getting caught by the new buyers trying to rip out and take with her the one hallway door where all the kids' heights had been written over the years.

It's become so awful, it went straight on past 'guilty pleasure' territory to just "I'm now ashamed that I've always watched this"
Well, and I kinda feel for many of the actors as well, they had some seriously meaty stuff to deal with in the first couple years. But for now, and been for awhile, as you say, like the priority of "let's make this the most crazy, whacked out on a meth/crack combo, ludicrous weird shit we can possibly dream up while high on god knows what else.
Then they go away and write off their best friggin character, Mickey, to somewhere in the broom closet so apparently we'll see him like 2-3 times a year.
But yep the Russian girl (Vanka... ?) still looks damn incredible. She was pretty much full nude way back when she made her first appearance a couple seasons ago. when Micky's dad caught him and Ian banging, so he brought over the whooo-ehhr to the house, and made her fuck Mick at gunpoint (all while Ian had to watch).

(as you can see... nah... not really much to say on this one )

That show hit levels of awful not seen outside of daytime soap operas.

oddly enough, I remember actually kinda watching Nip/Tuck fairly regularly at one point, but for only maybe about a season's worth. (I think mainly because I was watching regularly the thing that was on shortly before it, and I'd just left the TV on... wow, that was back when I actually watched most of my TV live )well, it was right in the thick of the whole killer mystery, who wore that freaky mask. How did you guys feel about the reveal of who the killer was? satisfied with that, at least?

Nip/Tuck went downhill when they moved to LA

Most FX shows start fantastic but end up over staying their welcome. The only shows that I can think of that didn't was Justified and Shield

even the Shield was pretty rough for a lot of S6 and some of S7...they really dragged out the secondary stories, esp. the Armenians. They def could have wrapped it up in about 5 less episodes

    S6 and S7 should've been one 16-episode season.
