Fluffed is a classic Phish song. It's a big, 15-minute, fully-composed suite that wends its way through a bunch of different sections before a returning to the original theme in grand fashion. It was a staple of early Phish sets, and performed correctly, it's a huge moment. But as the years went on, it faded from Phish sets. And when it did appear, the performances tended to be sloppy, as the band was moving away from tight, precise compositions of their early years. So when they opened their reunion show in 09 with a well-played Fluffhead, it was sort of a statement that 'the old Phish is back.'
I would say playing a full-length Blue Water would be the closest thing DMB could have to a Fluffhead moment. A fantastic song from the early years that disappeared and has never returned in its full glory.
I can see why someone might say Monkey Man fits the bill, but that song was never played to begin with. So while playing it would be huge, it wouldn't make the same statement as a big Blue Water would.
