    1. Tom Hardy is awesome and I’ve liked basically anything I’ve ever seen him in.

    2. Venom probably one of the coolest and most interesting Marvel characters, used to love his appearances in the comics.

    3. Tone looks good, sort of dark which fits my preference.

    4. Could be a cool dynamic with the duality/relationship with the symbiote, I like how he hears the voice in his head.

I think the “Embrace your inner anti hero” is a little on the nose so that has me a little worried but with not a lot of emotional investment I’m not going to be disappointed if this ends up not being good.

    Oh and I forgot one

    5. Not in the MCU

I think Sony’s whole “Spidey character universe without Spidey” idea is just terrible... but nothing about the Venom trailer itself struck me as particularly bad. Probably won’t see it in theaters but I’ll watch it at some point.

Oh yeah it is real dumb....the interview last year with Amy Pascal originally saying they were going to all be within the MCU had Feige absolutely cringing.

Not sure Michelle Williams signs up for terrible movies is the best I can say about Venom.

    Ant Man is enjoyable.

It's not the best MCU movie nor is it the worst. They tried something completely different compared to the typical superhero movie and it sorta worked. The next Ant Man will be miles better.

The best way to describe Ant-Man is "cute". Definitely a kid's movie. Probably one of the superhero movies I'd feel most comfortable showing to a small child.

I'll disagree, but probably only because Spider-Man has always been my favorite and I think Holland finally nailed the character.

It, along with Infinity Wars, watches like one of those big annual graphic novels (saw that metaphor made somewhere else). Easy to watch with a standalone story that is enhanced if you know the whole back story or read the main issues. Good movies.

Jake Gyllenhaal in talks to play Mysterio in the Spider-Man sequel:

    https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/he...ming-2-1113627

I love Mysterio, but he seems like such a relatively minor character for someone of Gyllenhaal's talent.

I mean Keaton was just the vulture.

I like it....but I guess that means we won't see much from the scorpion that they were setting up in HC 1.

Also we should not forget Spider-Man is dead so seems odd he is getting another movie.

i believe the new spider man 2 and 3 happen before infinity war, which can explain why he and tony have such a bond by the time infinity war rolls around

Which would be comparable if it was 1988. Keaton doesn't have nearly the star power that Gyllenhaal does in 2018. There's a reason so many people were excited at the prospect of Gyllenhaal being the new Batman. He should be carrying a franchise, not playing a second tier villain in one.

To your point about Scorpion though, I could still see Gyllenhaal making more than a one-off appearance if a Sinister Six movie finally ends up being made. But I'm not convinced that he's all that interested in a multi-film investment at this point.

I've personally always thought that he would be perfect for Nova (Richard Rider), which would be especially fitting given how Infinity War perfectly set up the character's introduction with the off-screen destruction of Xandar.

I could definitely see it being a set up for a Sinister 6 movie.

And Spider-Man is just hanging out in the Soul Stone's purgatory. He ain't dead.

I thought that Feige said it was supposed to kickstart Phase 4 and ground things.

I can totally understand why they are playing it close to the vest though. HC timeline was screwed up as well but at least they admitted this in an interview....lot of mixed things have been said...first I am pretty sure they wanted to keep him in high school and have each year be a movie but if Civil War was 2 years before that is already screwed up unless they do what you suggest.

Edit....I know he is not really dead....although would be great way to piss off Sony. Borrow character for MCU and kill him off.

That'd be so funny. "Sorry, what are you gonna do about it? We killed your character because you wouldn't let us have him 100%."

Knowing Sony they'd probably do some whacky timeline like X-Men.
