R&R Hall of Fame is the only chance I think he has to share the stage with them again anytime remotely soon.

I think the only reason they'd let this happen is to avoid the scene that NOT having Boyd there would cause.

Now, if Boyd "chooses" not to attend, that's a different matter.

I just hope this doesn't effect them releasing older shows and music in the vaults that contains Roi and Boyd.

That's what appears to be happening. Poor legal team, or they are afraid.

Hopefully the relationship between Dave and Boyd can at least be repaired to the point where this won't be the case in the future. It would be a shame not to release much more of Roi's work because of the strained relationship with Boyd, but I could see that happening.

Just wanted to come post here and shout out my man Boyd Tinsley for completely ignoring the salsa jam at 8:52 and power plucking his way through the measure.

I doubt their relationship has any affect on what's released. I doubt Dave even knows what gets released.

They've released some Boyd stuff since this went down.

if they didn't mind giving him royalties while the case was outstanding, I'm at a loss as to figuring out why they'd all of a sudden mind now that the case has settled

I don’t think they care at all about that. From a business perspective they only care about promoting the current version of the band. I don’t think the band has an ax to grind with him, and probably not vindictive about all this.

If they care about holding off Boyd getting paid, they’d have to quit playing songs he has cowritten.. because he gets royalties on that stuff whether he played on it or not.

There was an interview in 2006 where someone said something to him about a new live release, Dave was dumbfounded. There are some things he's made aware of before they're released, however.

I feel like everyone is forgetting this is a guy that was in the band for 25 years. Everyone is acting like the band has come out and active said they hate the dude.

The reality is he is probably like that black sheep now in your family. You love him but you don't know what to do with him and at the moment you don't want him alone with your kids or hanging out at the family gathering. You want the best for him and hope one day he full gets his shit together.

The only lingering question will be, if he truly fully gets his shit together, do you one day let him start coming to the family gatherings again?

Edit - Also, the one thing we have never really discussed - Does Boyd even want to be in the band anymore?

Boyd seems like a sensitive guy and know one really knows what went down behind the scenes. If he is hurt that they canned him maybe he has some bitterness towards DMB but i doubt it considering Dave said Boyd wanted to tour and keep going but he told Boyd he needed to take care of himself first. I miss Boyd a lot he was my favorite member of the band live when he was on fire he absolutely lit up the building. I guess its a good sign he said to my brothers in DMB have a great tour, i would absolutely love for him to return but i am not sure Dave really wants him or any violin in the band anymore. I am grateful for what the band has done in the past the core 5 had absolutely something special and i am happy i was able to see them live a bunch of times. Things deff changed after Boyds departure for me at least the sound is just not where it needs to be, but that is a whole other subject to dwell on. See yall at Spac.

In all fairness to Dave, management releases so many live shows I'm not surprised he doesn't know. If they had a handful of official live releases over their career I'm sure he'd know about them.

Yes, I'm aware and I wasn't surprised he didn't know. It was amusing during the interview seeing his facial expression change to "wait, what?"

Was it similar to his "what?" expression after the CBS interviewer "informed" him about how much the band has given to charity? That's an amusing one for me.

Boyd has lost his chance because he was more interested in Family Gatherings.
