** Official Teachers Thread **

It seems that there are more than a few teachers on Ants and with school starting up soon, our own thread seemed like a great idea. I would love to hear any stories about how and when you play DMB in your classes. Personally, I have music playing almost all day and it is always DMB. Most of the kids really take to it. We can also share any other topics that may arise. I look forward to finding out just how many teachers we have here on Ants. Enjoy!

Not quite what it sounds like. When they got rid of the flare on here, I had 69. So I put that in there. I was actually thinking of Al Geiberger, who is Mr. 59, but I doubt anyone even knows who he is.

I teach English as well. Each year my students complete a song lyrics project (explicating the lyrics, analyzing the use of poetic devices, etc). I complete a sample project just about every year...I've chosen "Pig" in the past.

The kids know I'm a DMB fanatic (poster in class, talk about going to concerts all the time...blah blah). I play music in class fairly often as well. DMB makes a solid appearance in the rotation.

    presently, teaching spanish.

    license in integrated social studies.

returning to school (tonight, in fact) to begin master's in ed (curriculum and instruction)--licensure endorsement in mild/moderate intervention specialist AND reading endorsement. (1/2 of me is looking forward to this, the other 1/2 is thinking: what the hell are you doing?)

the kids know where i'm at on dave. however, it's an urban district. and if there isn't bling and bootay attached to it, dey ain't havin' it. (let's just say, they aren't a very introspective group of children.)

    so is life.

No worries on this end. Laugh away! I know I sucked at grammar/puncuation in school and it hasn't gotten any better. I can do numbers/computer code and I stick to that. I have no problem admitting where I am deficient and if it gave you a good laugh, all the better.

they did this kind of crap in our district (which is EXTREMELY dysfunctional) last year. i never thought i would like the little one's. but last year, after +250 people got riffed (me included), i subbed ONLY for elementary. I LOVED IT.

i hope that's what i get hired for after i get the licensure endorsement in mmis. you'll like the little ones.
