I hate to be negative, but I feel like this has a chance to be a pretty standard show. Typically the last shows of the tour are. Even going back to 2013 when they had a great overall year.

You’re right Tyler, but they’re standard late tour shows. The catalog will have opened up a bit and it will be a little less bland than the tune up shows we usually get. That being said, I’m waiting on D&C dates before I make a decision. Still have a bad taste in my mouth from Nashville last year.

They've never really given Southaven a great show...arguably even a good show. I don't expect them to blow the roof off the shed with this show, especially as the "tour finale."

But I'll still be there.

I get what you’re saying. ‘13 sucked but redeemed its self towards the end a bit. ‘15 was a good show. It’s just totally overshadowed by Tuscaloosa a week later.

‘15 was a good show and was the show that got me back really following them again. Once I get over my disappointment of no Pelham I’m going to be optimistic that this will be an awesome tour closing show. I’ve never done pit. How is the pit in Southaven?

Seems likely they do Pilgrimage or ACL after this, whatever festival fits in those dates.

Surprised they are playing here instead of Pelham or Orange Beach but I'll take it.

I saw a show here in 2013, and it wasn’t the best, but I like the venue, it’s super close to me.

The venue is probably the worst amp I've ever been to. Bring a catheter or wear a diaper if you plan on drinking. The restroom lines are ridiculous. The sound and actual concert lines aren't horrible but it's an old venue that hasn't ever been updated.

Thinking back, 2015 acoustic set was pretty good. I remember having a good time until LL came out. But as someone said, Tuscaloosa blew it away.

Oh well, I get to sleep in my own bed and it's only 30 min from my house so I'll gladly take it.

I live in Oxford now, grew up near SPAC, after traveling last year to Pensacola and SPAC and being underwhelmed with both I told myself I wouldn't be seeing any shows this year unless it was somewhere very close like Southaven. They got me.

it's not a travel venue. It's probably the least spectacular venue I've been to.

Yeah this is true. Maybe something interesting will be sprinkled in. I imagine the majority of the show will be pretty standard tho.

Tuscaloosa 2 weeks later was a very nice show. Overall a pretty decent 2 shows for me. 2 Seek Ups in a row, Typical, Minarets, Stone, LIOG, LBV twice, and the Maker.

In my opinion its a fine venue for those of us in the south. Southaven is a nice little suburb near Memphis. Its pretty wide open for tailgating or whatever, and you can park by the baseball fields if needed. I think a few restaurants and maybe a bar is located across the street from the Amphitheatre? Personally I wouldn’t travel far for this place tho. It’s only a 3 hours from me so It’s not a big deal at all. How far will you be traveling? I guess you can make a little mini vacation out of it by spending a few days in Memphis and enjoying whatever Memphis has to offer. It’s not far from Memphis, maybe 15 or 20 miles?

If even that far. I think it takes me 30 min from my house in East Memphis and that's not going the highway.

But like Tyler said, unless you're making it part of a trip, this venue isn't worth the destination. If the band plays Pilgrimage that weekend it could be. Do a few days in Memphis, drive over to Nashville do a few days there and see the band at the fest. Pilgrimage is an incredible festival. Went last year for the first time and am planning on returning this year.

I remember getting PIT seats for my warehouse requests for 2015 and my tickets said GA 3, GA 4. Always wondered if that meant I was the second warehouse person to get them or if it was just random when they were printed.

Either way, something about the Memphis area and their fan base around here that makes me always feel like I have a better chance of getting PIT or good seats, even if it's just sheer numbers of requests.

I remember back in 2013 they didn't even have the pit set up. In 2015 it was really tiny comparative to other pits I have been in.

Ok yeah that makes sense, 2015 was the year I went so that makes sense. I wasn't living in the area in 2013 so didn't attend.

It’s so weird being dead last this year. I’m so used to this band hitting this venue, Tuscaloosa, Brandon, or Oak Mountain in the month of May. We got a good while until this one.
