Official Gilford, NH

Nice to see the band back in Gilford. Even better for 2-nights!
I wonder if they treat as a “mini vacation” with the lake right there?
Great shows in 2016!

I visited sanborten last October before visiting Boston for my anniversary. I think Guilford is close by, right? I'd love to visit new hampshire in the summer and hear that venue is awesome. Probably some cool festivals going on on addition to lake activities? 2nights of dmb at a small venue sounds fantastic.

Yeah, Sandbornton is near Gilford... it's all considered the 'Lakes Region'. At this rate, the lake will likely just be thawing out.

There is a huge, giant, absolutely AWFUL problem with these dates. It's fucking Bike Week. That whole area is going to be a shit show. But hey, there will be lots to do!!

    Stay home.

We camped at Ellacoya State Park the last time they played there. It was decent and relatively close to the venue.

That said, it's going to be tough to find a place to stay up that way with it being Bike Week. Also, prices will be at a premium.

    lol. Sanbornton* and Gilford*

Also, bike week isn't what it used to be. I think the venue will be alright since it's not in the Weirs, where the biggest traffic/bike/tourist issues are during that week. I truthfully don't expect anybody that comes to have an issue with it being bike week at the same time.

I mean, the only issue is people coming from the south (probably 97% of the attendees) having to go right through Laconia to get there.

Truth!!! Where are you coming from? Can we stay at your house?

On a good day, it would only take me 45 mins to get there. No clue how much longer it's going to take during bike week.

We stayed at the Inn at Smith Cove for the 2016 shows. Property is right on the lake and is only a 30 minute walk from the venue. The people who ran the property were very nice and overall the stay was perect.

haha, if it were up to me I'd have no issue with it. Unfortunately my girlfriend doesn't like random internet strangers in the house, god knows why. I live right down the road in Tilton, bout 25 minutes from the venue.

I stayed at Fireside Inn in 2016, which was fine and within walking distance. This year I booked at Misty Harbor Resort which has close lake access and is just down the street from the venue. I think closer than Fireside Inn.

I try to add a new spot every year, thinking this maybe the spot. What are accommodation like any camping or resonable hotel near by?

Pfffft... your gf is a weirdo. Also, we were under the impression that you were north of Laconia. You're not so our self-invitation is hereby rescinded!

I texted my wife that maybe this is just a sign that I need to buy a bike. Crickets.

There's expanded on-site camping at Meadowbrook now. It's definitely going to be the most convenient and cost-effective.

That said, aside from needing to pay a premium for hotels/motels, Bike Week isn't going to have a huge impact on the shows. Don't let is scare you away from making the trek, esp if you're down with on-site camping.

Had a blast in 2016 when they played there. Only about 8000 folks at the show. Stayed at the Misty Harbor Resort (condos) literally a couple of minutes walk from the venue. Coming where I do from the Gulf Coast (TX) New Hampshire is a beautiful state that I had not seen before and I enjoyed it very much. Made an awesome side trip about 50 miles north from Gilford, NH up to Franconia Notch State Park. Highly recommend this place with the trail up the Flume Gorge.

Gonna add a week this year to go up into Maine and see the sites up there as well.

Reserved for N1&2 for me... I'm just hoping they are as decent as last time. Centered for both shows which was great.
