yeah they have a million options. I wish they hadn't killed off all the Asgard people in IW bc I thought the end of Thor Ragnarok set up a cool idea of them traveling around getting in an adventure

Ok second watch of antman and wasp it’s pretty damn great. When you factor in the end credits I think it actually might be better then ant man.

I don’t see them going more than 3 years without an avengers movie unless they have nothing characters wise. Which would not be good. So hopefully there is another avengers movie in the same timeframe they have been going by.

three years would be ok I guess, I just feel like I'll need a breather after the big IW/Endgame buildup

well you may be glad to know that they didn't. I know this wasn't made explicitly clear in the film itself, but they've since said that Valkyrie made it off that ship with a band of other Asgardians before Thanos really went to town on it.

most little like 5 minute press junket clips are borderline unwatchable, but the Russos are usually able to make them at least semi-interesting. This one's pretty good, including Joe convincing the interviewer that Tony & Cap's "do you trust me?" "yes" moment in the latest trailer is not in the movie... but then playing with him "... or is it?"

I agree. Ant Man 2 is super enjoyable. Those two post-credit scenes are phenomenal.

Given that they are doing this special thing of only a year back to back with these, I think it's very possible then it's more like a 4 year span to the next proper Avengers movie. But also keep in mind, part of how as they've kept telling us that post-Phase 3 a lot about the MCU will be very different is we'll now via the Disney streaming service be getting these A-list limited series going on at the same time of still getting at least 2 theatrical films a year. The stuff with Loki, and then Scarlet Witch/Vision, and Winter Soldier/Falcon (though strictly speaking those last two still haven't been officially announced) and they will be very much so tied to the theatrical MCU continuity. Not just like post-season 2 Agents Of Shield and basically all of the Netflix Marvel stuff where the biggest linkage was just occasional dialog references.

I don't think Adam Warlock was directly referenced in the first Guardians (at best just a version of his cucoon being in the background in the Collector's stuff) but yea obviously there was the post-credits thing in the sequel. James Gunn, before the firing, did take care to say at one point that he'd never said Warlock was definitely being in Guardians 3, but I think after him not being in either of these Infinity War movies, since plenty of fans wanted him even in a small way, and now that Gunn's back on the job, I'd wager it's more likely than not he'll be in Vol 3. Which doesn't exclude him then being in either Eternals and/or Strange 2. Plus Gunn was open about how Warlock was in his original Guardians 2 draft but he cut him cause it was just already too many characters.

Depending on the ending of End Game, any of these movies moving forward with out Chris Evans , RDJ or Hemsworth will have such a different feel. I am not sure who they could recast them with, they have nailed their rolls perfectly.

Yeah there's no way they're recasting these people. If they do it'll likely just be someone picking up the mantle. Like it may be possible Bucky dons the shield to become a Captain America or something but I think that's going to be a while from now. Right now they have a solid cast and will be good carry on.

    Kill Tony
    Let Steve retire
Pay Hemsworth all the money you have to and get more movies with Thor

I can not get into the Thor movies at all. Tried ragnarok this weekend. He’s funny in it but it’s just weird. I’ll try again when we rewatch all of them though.

I would be in favor of killing Thor if it wasn't for Ragnarok. I want at least two more movies like that with that Thor character instead of blonde eyebrow Thor.

But I'm thinking Cap is dead and Tony retires.

There's no reason to kill Thor in terms of actor availability. Even if Hemsworth thinks he wants to be done/wants a break, Thor can just disappear for a bunch of years away from the action settling the Asgardians in their new home or something. They don't have to close the door on future appearances wayyyy down the line if he has a change of heart.

Captain America is way harder to write off without killing because any huge Earth-centric threat he would be a part of the action.

I'm a bigger DC guy than Marvel...yes this has been challenging over the last few years.

All that to ask - do the Avengers kill Thanos in the comics? That's kind of a massive character to dispense with, but as I type this I realize he's been behind the scenes for 20+ films...so it would make good sense to kill him. Where do we go from a big bad perspective next? I know Dr. Doom is a mother...does Disney own the FF rights yet?

Lotta questions in that post. I'll hang up and listen.
