Was wondering if Dane Cook would ever come up...I don't think he's bad, but like Aziz he just isn't one that I watch, not my style .. I listen to Burrs podcast every week and I don't think I've ever heard him say anything bad about another comic, but he definitely respects Dane

Spent the night smoking cigars and shooting the shit with Bill Burr. Couldn't be nicer, has some truly amazing stories. He was in town for Comics Come Home and came by a fundraiser we were doing for Joe Yannetti, a local comic from Boston who he's known for years. Ended up being me, Bill, my Dad, and two other comedians standing behind the club for about two hours. Really cool experience.

Kevin Hart is not a hack, and even though Im not a fan of Aziz I wouldnt call him one either. Kevin Hart got really big really fast and he just became worn out with countless movie/tv appearances, but cant blame him for cashing in while he can. Aziz Im not in a position to critique cause he just isnt my style

Alot of people need to learn what "hack" and "hacky" means. Dane, Aziz, and Kevin Hart are not hacks even though you may not like them.

I think Dane Cook is fucking hilarious, not that my opinion matters much because it's just an opinion, but he's made me laugh really hard before, so has Kevin Hart since he just came up above.

yeah some of danes early bits were great. Kinda got burn out on him in high school because everyone would try and do his material. Got old fast. That and he stole material. All his new stuff is really bad tho.

    Re: Stand Up Comedy

Dane gets too much hate. Im not a huge fan, but the Retaliation album, and Vicious Circle were solid acts, and I found them funny. I did not think Troublemaker was good at all however. The stolen material reputation really kills his rep.

Kevin Hart's Laugh at my Pain, and Seriously Funny are hysterical. His newest one was a huge step down, but like I said earlier, he is just going to keep making movies and specials while he is on top. Cant really blame him for that, Katt Williams did the same thing and he got old really fast.

    Re: Stand Up Comedy

All of that makes me respect Chappelle even more...he walked away while still on top, and has never put out sub-par material as far as I know...Its hard for comics to be consistently great for an extended period of time. That is what makes the Chris Rocks, and Louis CK's of the world soo special

I like Dane Cook, that doesn't mean I think he's a fantastic Stand-Up. He tell stories that are funny in my opinion. Aziz and Kevin also are storytellers...their stories however, are terrible and unfunny, and that's what makes them shitty comedians

That doesn't make them hacky, you just don't think they are funny.

If you think Dane is a better storyteller than Kevin Hart than thats your problem...but comedy is very much one's personal preference. You can say they are terrible and unfunny, but millions of people disagree with you. "The ground beneath is nothing more than your point of view" .. I am a fan of Anthony Jeselnik, but I understand his style is not for most..same goes for people who like Dane Cook..I am not a fan, but I respect that you find him funny. Calling someone a Hack, or terrible and unfunny suggests that you think you can do it better...and if you can, go make your millions

    Re: Stand Up Comedy

Hackey jokes are anything common and predictable.

"Woman, I mean amirite? Anyone else drive strait here tonight because they didnt want to go home?????"

"I had amazing sex with my gf last night, hope my wife doesnt find out!!!"

"Whats the deal with airplane food? So much effort goes into it being so bad!"

i feel like dane cook has acquired so much hate over the years, that he's actually kind of underrated as an actual comedian.

anyway, i really like mitch hedberg, ricky gervais and anthony jeselnik

I just can't get into Steven Wright. I don't understand why he is considered such a genius. It is an instant station change when he comes up on Sirius.

steven wright is definitely hit or miss for me. ^^ and so is aziz ansari. i see a lot of discussion about him because he seems to be a comedian that people will either really love or hate.
