Wasn't the James Brown show from the Garden '02 released as a live trax?

DMB has two releases from MSG, a DMBLive from the 96 tour and LT40.

My guess would be that they don't release them because it wasn't DMB or D&T OR that they just haven't explored the rights issues of the performers under that wonderful 'so-and-so appears courtesy of blah-blah records' clause. Not because it's hard or costly, but because it requires actually doing something more. I doubt Brady or Tony would have that issue, but possibly Trey might (I haven't looked into any of their contract structures, but a higher profile appearances can get weird on the back end). That's my suspicion on why The Nauts never materialized, but again never cared enough to look into it. OR Dave just doesn't want to chum the waters with Stefan. Not because he's afraid of what he'd do, but probably just doesn't want to hear it.

More than likely it's because it seems like extra to those that would be putting it together, and they just blow it off because it requires doing something more. That's the impression I get from a lot of business decisions surrounding this band.
Could someone explain the bold? I've been a fan since '95 and went to one of the shows on this tour (Philly), and this is the first I've heard of this. Did Some Devil create some bad blood with Stefan?

At the time, Fonz said, "It's Dave and Friends. I guess I'm not one of his friends?" or something like that

Thanks! Wow. It makes sense, I guess, but I don't know how I missed this back then.

Really, though, that lineup was great. I wouldn't have wanted it permanent or anything, but I loved how they captured that album (which is phenomenal) and that mix of cover songs. It's one of the Dave shows I've seen that really stands out as something special over all these years.

Yes. I'm talking about how many people have released things from the Garden more than once (Billy Joel, DMB, Bruce Springsteen, Phish, Elton, Barbra Streisand, The Who, Neil Diamond).
It's a trend in the popular music industry to release something recorded at Madison Square Garden more than once in a career.

In an interview around November/December 2003 Dave made an analogy that DMB is his family and D&F is his friends.

It was a sore point for awhile.

And never take an interview smoothing over statement as fact. Of course Dave was going to reference that in as a gracious of a way as possible, regardless of how the band dynamics were actually strained. To the press, he always takes the bigger man approach. I believe he always arrives there in his mind, though it may not happen as fast as early as the interviews happen.

Fonzi, on the other hand, has always been quick to say what was on his mind, damn the perception. If it sounds snarky, it probably is.

It also had to rub at least one bandmate wrong that one of Dave's best albums is sandwiched between the band's two worst albums. That would bug the hell out of me.

I count that as pre-Everyday, since most of those songs were from the Lillywhite Sessions.

Yes, Busted Stuff literally came after Everyday. I know that. I'm talking about when the songs were written, and most of them were written during the Lillywhite Session (which came before Everyday).

Now is when someone is going to say "But 'Everyday' was '#36'!" But come on. You know what I mean. Some Devil came between the compositions of their two worst albums. My point is that if I were Stefan, I'd be salty about that.

Some Devil's advocate here... Raven, Busted Stuff, and KKJ might as well have been new since they were completely overhauled. YNK & WAYG were new. Half the album was essentially new.

But by that thinking, then when does CT come from ... ?
