I haven't heard anywhere close to all of them to be able to say where this one ranks, but this is definitely a great version. I just heard it for the first time this morning after this thread was bumped (thanks for posting the video!)... Dave screams are indeed wicked on this. That ending run in the climax of the song is incredible! And one of the things that stood out to me the most is Tim's fills throughout the song; they are just so tasty. What an amazing musician he is. Versions like this leave me in awe of what he can do on a guitar.

I think this is the one where Tim's fills are downright awesome. I do love this Hello Again. Best ever? Tough call.

    Hello Again starts at 116:25

Dave’s vocals are spot on and he has total control of the lyrics and pace of the song. The part after the second verse is the best I’ve heard (Dave adlibs some good lyrics and has a great vocal crescendo). Carter’s drum break isn’t much but the end jam is solid. Great version.

Dave’s voice is too shot on OPs pick for it to be the best.

Hello Again from Warehouse 5 Vol. 6 feels perfect to me. Hard to beat that version

I really don't like when Dave does the whole high scream thing like the end of the '10 SPAC version

I absolutely understand why mostly everyone is lpartial to an 04’ Hello Again. I remember hearing those performances for the first time, live, a million years ago when I was 20...they were amazing. I’ve just always had this version as my favorite because of the climax and the intensity, and the band doesn’t always nail the primal screams at the end as far as timing goes. For me, it seemed like they were all on point and knew when to end it perfectly on this one, I just like it. Much love for all the other versions and when I said it was the best ever I just meant for me 🤙🤙

This thread was from 2010 when the excitement of its liberation was still high.

That being said, anything version with Tim and without Leroi isn’t the best version. Especially 2010 with Dave scatting the verses, it’s as if they didn’t load it into the teleprompter and Dave forgot the lyrics.

I’m not talking about the main verses, I’m talking about the little bridge verses in the chorus

Sorry this is elitist DMB nonsense at its finest... we’re now entering the 14th year without Roi.. there are plenty of versions of songs post Roi that as a whole performance are better..

I definitely agree with the above post. I've seen thirty something shows with Roi and another 30 something after his passing, other than b&bb I don't listen to anything without Roi or Boyd. In retrospect, i could have stopped going to shows after the 2010 tour, and wouldn't have felt that I missed out on anything.

IMO, easily the best Hello Again version is from WH. 5 vol. 6 / WH 8 vol. 3 from 8/24/04 in AZ. I believe this is the one where Carter makes a mistake with his drum solo and just goes with it? Dave is intense too, wow. Such a unique song. I had it on repeat for a month a couple years ago and I was lucky enough to see it in 2018 (Rogers, AR)... on a side note I was lucky enough to see What You Are the night before in Brandon, MS. That's another one we need more of.

Once they start touring again, I hope they bring it back into rotation but not so much to not make it special. Can't wait until live music and tours start again... Without tour plans and no new content lately it's been tough.

I wonder who told Dave to get rid of the "She was my..." intro. Probably Batson...

I always thought that developed into #27.

I think I agree with this. Even only for Carter’s solo at 6’
