I don't know how you Red Sox fans view Clemens, but what would be the general consensus if he got traded back to the Red Sox? I think if the Astros stink up the joint in the second half, he's headed to NY or Boston.

Ahh, I was hoping this would get resurrected. I'd love having Clemens back, but he won't leave Houston. The only reason he agreed not to retire was because he could be so close to home pitching for the Astros. So he's not going anywhere.

The prospect of the Randy Johnson trade, however, excites me. Nomar to Chi Cubs, Cubs send three prospects to Arizona, D'Backs send Johnson to Boston.

It would be perfect. Slumping Nomar would be gone, making way for Pokey to move over to short. Bellhorn's the new second baseman, Mueller at third, and Youkilis who just got sent back to Pawtucket (boo!!) returns as back up. Red Sox starting pitchers go Martinez, Schilling, Johnson, Lowe, Wakefield...aside from a temporarily rutted Lowe, that's strong. Arroyo is backup starter, and Burger King Kim goes directly to hell, does not pass go or collect 200 dollars.

I've really thought all this out. Epstein and Francona deny it, but I'm not ruling it out. Schilling and Johnson are really good friends...it could happen. My fantasy.

I read that Clemens would be willing to leave Houston if it helped out the Astros. Nomar to Clemens - straight up.

    Right here.

Don't laugh too hard since it's John Kruk, but that's what I read. It just got me thinking that there might be a slim chance he would go back to Boston.

The Red Sox window of oppurtunity to win the World Series is slowly closing, IMO. Now's the time.

I'd like to see the Red Socks with either pitcher... Johnson or Clemens.

I'm not going to lie, it really pisses me off that Johnson wants to go to the Yankees so much. The Yankees are such a fuckin lock it's ridiculous.

It's not so much that they're winning, it's how they're doing it.

If the Yanks were winning every year with a $100 million payroll, I'd have far less complaints.

If they add Johnson, they're payroll will hit $200 million.

Hmmm, maybe that's what they need to do.

Do you think the Nation would welcome Clemens back with open arms? I know I wouldn't. Yeah, we're in a slump right now, but I honestly don't think we need him. All you need is Damon

Amen. I hadn't heard Johnson was so gung-ho for the Bronx. All I know is I hope the Sox make at least one big name trade before the deadline. Not only will they get a star player, it'll help to rejuvenate themselves a little and get back on track.

The only good thing about boston baseball is their ball park. Besides that they should just stop trying to get the big name stars, cuz that isnt ever going to work. They would find better success going the ways of the angles last year or something like that. Decent players, but nothing special. all they are doing now is wasting money cuz as long as steinbrener is putting out the money there is no point in boston trying to compete in the buying of players. They (red sox) go spend big bucks on semi-decent players (a la manny), and they end up finishing second all the time. Try something new, go with cheap decent talent, work on chemistry and the wins will come. keep the money with the pitchers, and wins will come.

The red sox make horrible decisions, plain and simple. We arent talking a curse we are talking stupidity.

Yes, you're absolutely right. The Red Sox have made terrible decisions in the past 2 years picking up players

Ortiz- RBI Leader in the AL (hmm.. I don't remember him being expensive)
Mueller- AL Batting Champion Last Year (I believe this is what you call.... cheap talent)
Schilling- 2nd best Pitcher in the AL this year
Foulke- Slipped a couple times near the break, but was automatic before then.

The players that are letting them down are the guys they've had forever. Nomar has been just plain awful when it counts, Lowe shouldn't even have to be mentioned with how bad he is. And as for semi-decent Manny.. if it weren't for a guy named Vladimir Guerrero he would probably be the MVP in the American League this year.

they make good decisions, but its the bad decisions that hurt them. Like trading Babe Ruth and not wanting to give Alex Rodriguez more money.

i think people are so dumb to complain about the money. the entire point of pro sports is to be entertaining to watch. there is absolutely no other point no matter what anyone says in the world. people should like the teams that are fun to watch. i like the cubs cause they play an exciting game. they fuck up in the end but oh well. but i don't like them as much when they get raped in the ass every game. its not fun to watch. the same goes for any other team. i like the yankees. i like the players and the team. its fun to see them rock the bats and and bitch slap the other teams offense. i like the playing style of the players. who gives a fuck if they spend a lot of money. i would much rather have them do that and give me some entertainment then play it fair and make it all boring as shit.
