Absolutely loved the show except for Shake Me, main set was right there with SPAC N2 '08 and SPAC N2 '09 for me, haven't seen many shows that fit my preferences as much as tonight. Also if there are any Raab haters like there used to be they have no clue when it comes to vocal technique. Dave is singing incredibly well, so connected with every part of his voice.

That wasn’t really a festival show from what i understand. Summerfest is more a general name tacked on to a set over concerts over a period of a couple weeks. Normal amphitheater show pretty much. Nobody else was playing that day or opened for DMB.

Probably the show of the year. Unfortunate that they cute WAS and just had to play Shake Me.

Doesn’t take away from the fantastic set though

Very different SPAC experience, not because of the personal stuff, didn't tailgate or go to Ballsfest and when I did get to the Columbia Pavilion there were like 5 cars there. Had fun for sure just in different ways, Saratoga Winery and was downtown until the last minute

Fwiw it was my gf's first DMB show, a first timers takeaway:

* Floored by Tim, especially his speed
* Impressed at Dave's vocal endurance
* Loved Bartender, DIDO, Warehouse

just looked at Indiana sets this tour. yea, those look incredible, and you got the stone and sugar will and gems like seek up and great closers/encores. mor consistent overall. I wanna get back to noblesville so badly. went in 08. like Indy in general as a city, and loved that venue. Was in pavilion and would still settle for lawn since you can actually fully see the stage with a nice incline, like Michigan DTE.

All in all a great weekend and a trip I’m gonna continue to make. Really sick highlights (Pig, YNK, Say Bye, What You Are, Lover, Fishtender, Stone, Sugar Will, DIDO, and Christmas)

That show was in the running for best one ive been to, and still very well might be but shake me is such a poor taste in the mouth. Something as simple as Billies or Ants coulda been a sick cherry on top.

Tonight was like going into the 9th inning pitching a perfect game, and then with two outs and two strikes giving up a hit. And in Dave’s case maybe on purpose!

I'm going to Jones beach with some friends. Was the only one at the shows this weekend. We had a group text going and everyone kept raving about the show. At 9:50 I texted "I'm so scared for the Shake me closer".

I still can't understand why Dave would do that.

It’s baffling that Dave thinks Shake Me can close shows but not the other 80% of the catalog that could totally work in that spot.

At this point I find it a nice thing Dave closes with shake me. Let’s the bigger fans know they can beat traffic and the casuals who dig it can be the ones stuff for hours after a show in the lots

The thing is that Shake Me COULD be a decent closer if it had developed even a tiny bit since 2009. They could extend that bridge a little bit, maybe slow it down and do some organ/piano stuff with Buddy before letting the bridge lyrics float in. Then slam back into the song, maybe let Tim take a solo with the horns going. Come back to the chorus to finish up, then let the outro build up to a big release at the end (think Two Step outro but a little more funk)

THAT could be an acceptable show closer, but Shake Me as it currently is is just a big “whomp” to end an otherwise awesome show.
