Their store is not good. There is no way to find LT 48 & 49 without coming into this fan forum and finding the link that was posted here. Just purchased those with my LT50 preorder, but I wouldn’t have been able to if I wasn’t on ants.

I agree... the store really took a turn for the worse when they changed to "better graphics" (looks like flash-based?)... I'd much rather have better functionality over large pictures and unnecessary animations.

I stiller and LT7 above this one. Crash with Paul mclandass is worth the price alone. Best crash ever. One of the best typicals. Also my favorite seek up very unique

LT47 owns tho. 96-97 is PEAK dmb

I've always felt LT7 was slightly overrated, the jams are great and I agree it's the best Crash but Dave's vocals are rough, it's not something I would use as an example for someone who was interested in finding out about DMB for that reason

I can understand that. It’s a NYE show. Party atmosphere. You can feel the good time in the crowd on the tape and on the release. 96 was a heavy touring year wasn’t it? So pretty expected for end of year, even if not their busiest. The great show despite the voice is what is characteristic of peak DMB IMO. With 96-97 dmb that rawness doesn’t retract, only enhances.

I agree. Wouldn’t be the first tape I’d give. But not would 47 as Bella enhances that show so much.

They played an insane amount in '96, I've always felt their peak was '98-04 because at that point you have all songs from the big 3 and Dave's voice improved drastically from the early and mid 90's. I'm not saying you are wrong, just a difference in opinion, more great songs plus increased time together on stage plus far better vocals tops the rawness for me. It's not like I dislike early DMB.

It's fair to say their peak was '98-'04 and their prime was '95-'04.

Agreed. Can't understand why they wouldn't make these easy to find. I found LT 48 but had to request the link for LT49.

It's one of my personal favorites, and it seems to get high praise around here. The performances are all great, especially that run with Bela (Graves, Seek Up > Two Step, #41)

Definitely a different vibe than LT7, I think it's a great companion. Neither release gets in the way of the other, and the performances are different enough to make both worth purchasing in my opinon.

If you want more '90s LTs, I'd support this one.

Agreed. This is a top 5 release for me. It's fantastic. The songs with Bela Fleck are outstanding. Seek Up alone is worth it. Why don't they just play it this way all the time?

I think the mix and overall sound is much better than LT7. LT 7 wears on my ears. Its mixed pretty poorly and I think they used some sort of stage mic to pull in a lot of the flecktones.. They weren't mixed into the soundboard or something... All their contributions are just so in the background.

Bela is front and center on Lt 47.

Good to see this released finally.

Just to respond to a few comments: listened to this again today and it is very top shelf LT. I like it better than 7. Personally, set list is near perfect and the performance and the mix are superb. If you somehow don't have this, here's your next purchase while waiting for 59. The best "Crash" era release so far.

This show maybe one of my favorite of all time. It's just amazing. Bela on Seek Up alone is worth the price of admission. Easily one of my most revisited shows of the LT collection.

Agreed. Can't believe it took them to 47 to put it out. I'd like to hear more from 97 with Bela too.

Similar to setlists, there are a lot of confusing decisions with Live Trax release. 97 should be a year that's fairly well represented, and it has 2 full releases.

This one should be in consideration for vinyl. It's a good length for that too!

Im thinking I need to break down and purchase this one. LT 17 is one of my favorites. How does the performance and sound mix compare to that one?

Can’t believe I’ve overlooked this one for so long.

It's a no doubt top 5 LT with one of the best 4 song run's you'll ever hear from the band (LIOG>#41). It's a must have for all DMB fans.

To my ears it's far better! Think the mastering/mixing has gotten better in the later Live Trax for the most part in comparison.

It beats 17 by a mile for me.

Bela Fleck is featured on 6 songs.. and he's mixed in really well. LIOG, Seek Up, Two Step and #41 in the first half of the show is worth it alone.

But the whole show is just incredible

also listened to this whole show (after lt64) start to finish for the first time in ages on a long drive the other day. just an incredible show from beginning to end. that said, the LIOG > Seek Up > Two Step > 41 run with Bela is just insane. 50+ minutes of pure musical bliss

I can't believe it took until 2019 to release this. It's a top notch DMB show on many levels.

Can't believe it wasn't an official major release at some point.

And I HOPE we get more Bela and Flecktones guesting from those late 90's early 2000's shows. Getting multi tracked shows from that time is just awesome.

If you want DMB to release shows like, then yes support by buying it. I’m fine with any era of DMB but we can always use deep show releases.

I'd like to believe that, but I don't think they look at numbers all that much. I think they do know certain tours are well loved. 98, 2000, 2004..
