On topic...
5, 3, 7, 2, 8, 11, 1, 12, 13, 4, 15, 14, 6, 9, and 10.
5, 3, 7 are pretty much a 3-way tie for first place in my book, but there is a HUGE gap for me in this list after 12.
1...awesome release. A pretty standard set for 1998, but a great performance. Bela and Jeff guest on a couple of tunes, which is a very good thing in my opinion.
2...I don't understand all the hate this one gets. Some people think it's a bad mix? It sounds fine to me. 41, BOWA, LIOG, Stone, DIDO...sick run right there. My personal favorite Roi BOWA solo...goosebumps every single time I hear it. Great scat in Jimi Thing in this release also, and another great run with Santana just before Stay.
3...my most played by far, has many great songs, but I enjoy the overall flow of 5 much more. I usually listen to certain song "runs" on certain releases rather than the full show, but on 5 I find it very easy and enjoyable to listen to the entire thing in one sitting.
4...Crash release show, and a very cool show. I don't listen to it nearly as much as I should, as it has some gems on it. A neat little Jam after Say Goodbye. Pretty cool to see Too Much come before So Much and not be connected via ASTB, even though I love that segue.
7...just spectacular anyway you look at it really. Great set, great guests, great performance. NEW YEARS EVE! How fucking cool is that?
8...solid set, great performance. Full band Typical >> Warehouse encore.
10...There is something about this release that I just don't particularly like. Maybe it's the mix, the crowd (sorry), or the set. Don't get me wrong, the performance is outstanding on this one. DMB loves it over there, and always plays a great show. Double encore is kind of cool, but other than that the set is pretty much blah. Pretty decent Grey Street though, and quite possibly THE WORST Jimi Thing I've ever heard (thank you, Butch).
11...I've always just really enjoyed this release for some reason. It just seems very mellow and chill, and I like that. My favorite released Rapunzel, plus Minarets > LIOG > Bartender run.
12...Definitely one of the more underrated releases, and much like 5, it is very raw. I would imagine that most casual fans would hate this release, since none of the songs are quite "polished" yet. It is adored by many, though.
13, 14, 15...meh releases for me...WAY too many '08 releases as it is.
6, 9...the most recent additions to my collection and I've only listened to all of the music two or three times. Not enough for them to really move up on that list of mine yet. Pig, DDTW, and Warehouse are all great from the Fenway release, and Down By the River (love that cover), Seek Up, and of course Halloween are highlights from Vegas.
