I can't imagine paying nearly $270 a pair, per night, for a view like what Peter posted.

We brought our own chairs on the trip with us last year, and posted up in those on the lawn. Great view for a fraction of the price.

Here are the chairs we brought:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cheaper than renting the venue ones each night, and you get to keep them.

Posting that awful angle pic reminds me; I was at Mumford & Sons on Saturday and the sides/back walls were much more open, wonder if that's a venue or band mgmt decision?

Combo of both maybe, and likely factoring in weather/wind conditions.

Looked through the Google doc a bit but couldn't find the answer, what time do they start letting people in to the campground on Thursday? I feel like I remember it being around 2?

I want to say it's later than that, I think like 4 maybe? But it's been a few years since I've been out there.

4:00pm is correct. From TicketMaster sale page for camping:

Maybe this is what happened last time I was there. I thought I remembered getting in a bit earlier than 4, but this was three years ago so who knows

Anyone ever take the walk and swim in the Columbia river? Seems like a fun day time activity but can't find any info about it.

I think this will be helpful. There are a few areas you can swim, although I've never done it.

Thank you for this info. My group will be doing this. We’re camping in Gold with an RV but 3 others are arriving later and parking a car in general. How do I get them into Gold with me though? The website says all of your party must arrive together. Do I just request extra wristbands or passes for the others parking their car in general? Thanks again!

You can ask for extra wrist bands when you check in, but chances are high they won't hand them out. Just go to the camping office (near the general store) with your Gold pass and the other people and they'll give the wristbands then -- they mark the # of bands on the pass. I've done this multiple times with no issue.

yes. Spending that much time/effort and not getting the 3rd night (normally the best) would suck. I guess if you have to get back home no matter what it's still worth going, but i would try everything to be able to stay for Sunday.
