Can't believe there are people pumping Peppers for Heisman still. Aside from his zero defensive production and the fact that every team has several players that can get five yard runs out of the wildcat, he's not even the best player in the Michigan defensive backfield.

You're making that assumption, not I. I'm all for upsets that's why college sports are better. But ask yourself this question, do you really think Colorado would Alabama in 2016? This isn't a #1 seed vs #8 seed debate. This is the 2016 Alabama Crimson Tide vs Colorado.

Sure, #1 seeds can go down, but not this team vs Colorado.

A more realistic current hypothetical would be the actual rankings as it currently stands:
1 Alabama
2 Ohio State
3 Michigan
4 Clemson
5 Washington
6 Wisconsin
7 Penn State
8 Oklahoma

Main thing I hate about the Playoff is how no one talks about bowls anymore. The Rose Bowl could be Southern Cal vs Michigan/B1G Champ assuming tOSU gets in if they beat UM. That would be a great matchup.

Colorado will lose to Utah this weekend.
Washington will beat Washington St. this weekend.

USC will beat Washington in the Pac 12 title game.

USC will play in the Rose Bowl against tOSU, Michigan or PSU.

There will be no Pac 12 team in the playoffs.

Disagree. I think we are the best 3 loss team. Our losses came from the number 1 team in the country and two other ranked teams (one of which was a flip of a coin in terms of who ended up winning that game).

If you look at the 2 loss teams behind USC in the rankings, I think that we are playing better than all of the.

To go 1-3 in the first four games and then win 7 in a row pretty convincingly gets us to that ranking.

As much as I'd like that all to be true, USC still has Clay Helton as coach who is still a relative unknown and would almost assuredly be at a decided schematic disadvantage against Chris Peterson in a rematch.

I agree that he is nowhere near a top Heisman candidate. That being said, "lack of production" for a DB typically means they're covering their guys so well that teams aren't even throwing their way.

Heisman is weird this year. No breakout star now that Lamar Jackson got sacked 11 times and their team tanked. Seems wide open, lotta people gonna get votes, thus the votes gonna be so spread out that's it not gonna be much of a Heisman mandate.

4 team only benefits big ticket programs with big $$$, all other 2nd tier programs get screwed. You really don't realize that Texas is a 2nd tier program that would get screwed a la Penn State or Wisconsin or a million other programs?

There is 100% no chance whatsoever EVER that a 1-loss Wisconsin or Penn State team, all things being equal, would ever be placed ahead of an Ohio State or Michigan one-loss team, again, all things being equal. I'm only using the Big 10 here as an example, but people that don't believe this 100% are insanely naive. The only way that the Washington's of the world ever get a real shot is if this expands to 8 teams.
