Got a 14 Pro Max on release day; went with black as I was not a fan of the purple. Went back to Apple after 3 years on an Android device and am very happy with the phone and the switch. Pleasantly surprised at how much shit actually transferred from old phone to new phone. Only had to manually download like 5 apps that I regularly use that didn't transfer. I did experience the weird camera thing when I opened snapchat for the first time but has only happened one other time. Phone also got really hot the first time I was charging it but that also hasn't happened again. Haven't noticed any other issues yet. Battery life on this thing is incredible.

Been trying to find a magnetic minimalist case to use in my car while I drive and having a hard time. Went with a Spigen last week but the magnet absolutely sucks on this case and I am not a fan of the material. I don't mind not having a case as I love the look and feel of the phone, but need something so I can use my magnetic car mount in my car.

i read a lot of reviews. i never had airpods so i returned my airpods pro 1's to amazon for a refund and will get teh airpods pro 2's whenever i upgrade to the new phone. going to wait for a deal or a bundle deal to be texted to me. used to get a lot fo them the past 1-2 years, so maybe i'll be able to score a free 13 or a discounted 14, or a free set of airpods or something through verizon in a couple weeks. glad to see the feedback on the 14 and the airpods has been positive. i think my mind will melt upgrading from a 6

What's a good music program for an iphone? I just want to listen to music, nothing ridiculous. Apple Music is unintuitive and stupid, not even sorting by track number or date. That's all I want to do, drag my MP3s onto my phone, and then play them in the correct order (artist, date, album, disc, track, song).

Simple. Why can't simple be easy.

Ok, Foobar2000 works 95% the way I want it to. I had to tweak advanced settings to get it to sort albums by date, but whatever, it's there.

However it doesn't sort by date if two albums share both an artist and an album name, even if the dates are different. This can happen with releasing different versions of the same single.

Or if it's a live recording and they played the same venue on different dates.

If I can do this without having to rename my albums "(%date%) %album%" (which I won't do, there are fields for a reason), that would be great.

Any tips?

If you find this, let me know. It all sucks right now. Spotify was never an awesome UX, but now it's atrocious. Why did they remove the homepage and just show a list of recently listed albums there instead? Who thinks that looks good. You scroll like 5 times down and see the last 5 albums you might have clicked on, like that's all you ever want to hear. So weird.

Apple Music is just hard to sort through. There's no easy way to just look at all your albums or a collection of say live DMB albums in an easy way.

A lot of things in tech are just getting overly complicated and changes being made for the sake of it with no regard to outcome. They know they have us trapped in these programs. It's not like I'm going to delete my apple library any time soon.

Closest I got was foobar2000. I still need to import them using apple Music, and the date thing I mentioned is still an issue, but this is barebones and seems to work if you're just importing MP3s and not trying to stream music.

But yeah, its a clusterfuck of bloat, most of it.

I was offered a solution to my problem. Just add a blank space to the end of one of the album titles. Ugly hack, but it works, so now I'll use it for my phone.

Stock weather app sucks, tbh. They’ve half-assed integrating what made Dark Sky great.

If you need a weather app for anything more than temperature, just get RadarScope.

this is what I use too, but it's clear the free version is not getting the attention it deserves performance wise. there are so many ads and pop-ups now that it really makes things slow to load, and it seems they are really pushing for their paid version.

Yeah, they cranked up promoting a paid version within the last year. Before that it was really good. It still gets the job done though. I tried another new weather app recently that I can't remember the name of, but its temperature forecasts were noticeably different and wrong compared to The Weather Channel app.

My weather app works fine, but I think it's because I have the location access set to "always" so it always updates in the background.

Apple is currently trying to resolve an issue with its Weather service according to its System Status webpage, although the issue summary only lists next-hour precipitation as unavailable for Alaska "due to a data provider outage," when in fact numerous regions and forecast types are down.

Apple says the issue affecting "some users" began around five hours ago as of writing and is "ongoing," although some iPhone users are reporting that they have had intermittent issues with Weather data since the iOS 16.4 update was released a week ago. We'll update this story when the problem is reported as resolved.

hi. i just got airpods pro 2. i hooked up to iphone. i have two airpod circles in my battery widget saying 100%, then i have my airpod case in another circle. why do i have two circles for the same airpods? i thought it would be just one for airpods and one for case

Each airpod has it's own battery and they don't each deplete at the same rate. It's close, but not exact. So sometimes you'll be listening and one will die but you can still use the other one for a little bit.
I think this is because one has the mic? That's definitely when I've noticed that one will die faster, when I have to be on a call for a good while.

Both AirPods have a mic, but only one mic is active.

I wonder what the algorithm looks like for deciding which mic to activate; just whichever one has the most battery left?
